A 7.0-magnitude earthquake hit Ya'an City, Sichuan Province of China on April 20, causing serious damage and more than 2,000,000 people were affected. In response to the devastating earthquake, Habitat for Humanity China (HFH China), part of international non-government organization Habitat for Humanity, has set up the "Sichuan Post-Earthquake Rebuilding Fund" to help affected families rebuild safe, decent and affordable homes which can withstand 8.0-magnitude earthquakes. Families will be provided directly with grants, with regular monitoring conducted by Habitat staff and financial transactions inspected by an external Hong Kong auditor with international qualification.
