Hello Triszh! Naks, you’re the new tambayan queen. NYAHAHA. But --- before you can exercise your royal powers over your subjects, you must first be familiar with your kingdom. So here is a guide to your cat-less, poo-less Seccom realm~ I divided this primer into four parts: (1) committee work, (2) regular tasks, and (3) execom functions and (4) misc. Happy reading! :D

COMMITTEE WORK (l) Theme logo

1 Should visually communicate the semestral theme 2 Should be finished ASAP so you can focus on the

other Seccom tasks that need to be accomplished at the start of the sem too (theme board, org fair, etc)

Save a copy of the raw/ .psd file for future tweaking Make it as high res as possible

other execommers will need this for their word documents (midsem interview, FI, marketing letters, etc)

(3) Org Fair Week

1 Org fair booth • •

SEAC will provide the theme PLEASE WIN THE BEST ORG BOOTH AWARD! For the past 6 sems (Ajean’s, Anday’s and my term), OBEM/ETC won this award. Pero okay lang, the judges aren’t really art experts. Sina Tita Connie lang ito eh. Haha. They like gimiks more than anything. Like last year OBEM won because of their lechon even if our


prodwork was aesthetically more pleasing and much more pulido. :| Sometimes there are additional SEAC requirements. Last sem they asked each org to submit a movie poster.

2 Reaff forms • •

Collect them from Sieg after he processes them—mga a week after mems delibs siguro. Ask your sexy Seccomers to encode all the member’s information since this info will be used to create the directory, which will be released at the end of the sem during Induction Ball.

3 Lockers • • •

People usually approach you if they want to rent A door costs P40/sem Text the old locker owners if they are still interested to rent for the current sem. The list of last sem’s owners is posted on my locker’s door (A3). Post a list for the current sem to avoid locker ownership mix-ups.

4 Logbook for Mems and Apps 5 Shirts •

Shirts are released only during the 1st sem; Ecosoc month shirts lang kasi prinoproduce


The shirt design should already be available during reaff period so people can order early on. This will give more time for shirt production and AR collection. (also to avoid the very grave mistake I committed) :( Contact: Sir Jun Clemente in Recto. SUPER CHEAP AND SUPER FAST. I’ve actually established a buyer-supplier relationship with him already so he’s lenient with discounts. Basta sabihin mo lang referred by Czar. ;) (09182718940; Severino St., Recto --> you can take the LRT 2 then alight at Recto Station)

*You will be bombarded with projects during the first weeks of classes, pero kaya yan!! :)

(4) Sigsheet

1 Applicants need 10 hours of tambay before they can **demand** the sigsheet from you

2 Get the final committee assignments/ roster of

members from Sieg. Get message from Raym (as President) and Sieg (as memcom chair).

3 Use the past sigsheets as content guide but feel free to add anything • If you want, you can add the Ecosoc Song

4 Re: pictures in sigsheet: I scheduled a photoshoot for the Execommers and Vice Chairs.

5 I used Photoshop and InDesign in laying out the sigsheets. :D

6 You can print the sigsheets in • Artekulit: Where I’ve printed all my Echoes and Sigsheets. Bawal ang rush dito cause it takes him 2 days more or less to print. Also his rates are more expensive—BUT the output is really high quality. Basically it’s a trade-off between quality and budget/time constraint. Contact Kuya Jojo, the proprietor, at 09179408721, 4369471, 9282966. Artekulit is located at the 2nd floor of the Philcoa building.

• Yza: Where Lucie printed all her Echoes; it’s

much cheaper there at pwede rush AS IN THE SAME DAY HAHAHAHA. Yza is located in SC.

(5) Clean-app

1 Clean-app and MBA are usually scheduled

together para convenient for the apps since two app


events in one day. MBA held during mornings and Clean-app during afternoons. Coordinate with Ogie during the calendaring for the sched.

2 Post the Clean-app pubmat at least one week before the event

3 Ask Sieg to announce this during their Applicant

General Assembly because ALL APPLICANTS ARE REQUIRED TO ATTEND THIS. This is the only event Seccom requires from the apps so they better attend it. Hahaha.

4 Text brig the apps so they’d be saturated with reminders. Tell them to… • Wear working clothes • Bring basahan and other cleaning materials

5 Tambayan Stripping • • •

Because our tambayan floor is very special, you’ll need to hire Kuya Mario to wax it. A tambayan strip is worth P500. You can get the budget from the sold PETs para break-even yung Clean-app. You need to transfer all furniture outside before the tambayan stripping can start

6 Borrow the pang-agiw (cobweb-sweeper), mops,

pails, other cleaning materials you don’t have from Ate Vangie. The janitors have a “tambayan” rin under


the staircase near the backparking.

7 Alsooooo‌ you need to bring powdered detergent for cleaning of electric fans and windows and etc.

8 Tell me if you need a comprehensive list of things that need cleaning.

(6) PS Workshop

1 As usual, post pubmat at least one week prior the event.

2 You will need a PS lecturer (you can ask Anday or me HAHAHA; I asked my cousin from Team Manila to lecture)

3 Other concerns: lesson plan, room reservation, LC projector, extension cords, snacks for the attendees and lecturer‌ and PS installer both for Windows and Mac

4 Ask all attendees to bring their own laptop. Make sure to install Photoshop before the event starts.

(7) Ecosoc Exhibit

1 For the 2nd sem, during Tambay Week lang

ito. For the 1st sem, the exhibit will last for the full


September.

2 Regarding design and content shiz, bahala ka :D Hahahaha. Si Anday nga, tarp lang dito. Haha.

3 One of the most awaited parts of the exhibit is

the Committee Pictorial Exhibit! Notify the Execom ASAP regarding the deadline of their committee pics. :)

4 For the 1st sem, you need to print an Ecosoc

Month Tarp. It should contain the list of Ecosoc Month events. This should be placed in Econ’s lobby area. Cheapest tarp printing place is located at 2nd floor Philcoa—ang walang kamatayang INTERMATRIX~!

(8) Tambay Week prodwork

1 Actually the old tambay week prodworks were

different. Ajean taped long thin strips of crepe paper on the ceiling that gave a strips-of-crepe-hung-fromthe-ceiling effect. Haha labo. Anday on the other hand set-up a layout that matched the Tambay Week theme. What I did was simple: I covered the theme board with a new tambay week prodwork; then I incorporated letter writing into the design. :P


2 Since your sexy Seccomers would be busy with

the exhibit and CDC art workshop, you can delegate this project to your Seccom interns.

(9) CDC Art Workshop

1 CDC art workshops are scheduled during tambay week.

Get the most/ outstanding mems from each committee and outstanding apps from delibs • You can use the Induction Ball certificates I made in word. :)

2 DIRECTORY •

Ball. Important! Include the new members in the directory. So you will get info from (1) encoded reaff forms and (2) apps directory. I used Photoshop and InDesign in laying out the directory Print contacts same as Sigsheets. Though I chose Yza over Artekulit in printing this since low budget lang siya and rush. Hahahaha.

(3) Genmeet letter (monthly)

1 There are template genmeet letters in the Letters folder. Para di hassle, make the genmeet letters monthly instead of weekly. So just list down all the dates of the Wednesdays of that month. Give the letter to Tita Lorna in SE 101, then pay the fees in Rm 222 to Tita Gloria. 2 Take note, our letter will say our reservation will

last for only 30mins 12nn-12:30pm (even if I’m 95% sure we’ll exceed hahaha). This is a clever costcutting technique we thought of. Bwahaha ;)

3 The secretary is not only responsible for genmeet

room reservation letters but room reservations in general also. But commhead must have the initiative to ask you to take charge of this.

4 All letters are addressed to Dr. Joseph Joe Capuno, UPSE’s College Secretary.

(4) Cleaners (every 2 weeks)

1 I revamped the cleaners system last sem. Feeling

ko talaga mas-efficient yun. Each committee is given responsibility over tambayan cleanliness for two weeks instead of 2 committees per day tapos same schedule per week.

2 At the end of the two-week period, there will

be a mini clean-up sponsored by that particular committee. You still have to supervise them though. Hahaha.

(5) Genmeet Tasks (weekly)

1 Announce upcoming birthdays 2 Take genmeet attendance: pass around to each execom a sheet of paper where they’ll take down


the names of their members present in the genmeet. You will submit compiled genmeet attendance data to Sieg before his presentation regarding Ecosoc’s midsem evaluation.

3 Currently ECOSOC HAS NO MIC HUHUHU. (Mic

mortality rate in Ecosoc is 2 mic deaths per sem). Because of the dismal financial status of Ecosoc last sem, the execom decided not to prioritize buying a new mic. Manghiram nalang kay Mang Claudio. But I think it’s better if you guys buy a new one? Alagaan nalang ng mabuti. The mic is usually kept in the Seccom locker.


EXECOM DUTIES (l)Plansem

1 Provide calendar sheets for all execommers

(2) Minutes

1 Take down minutes using your laptop. Then

upload them in your execom y!groups. I gave you access to our execom y!groups last year so you know how I organized the minutes.

2 It is important that you take down minutes during execommeet because you need to provide a copy of these “announcements� for every execommer the next day for the commeet. Kahit compress the committee announcements into 6 copies per page, tapos print 2 copies. Then cut nalang. Put each commeet news announcement sa pigeon hole ng bawat execom.


(3) Execom Clean-ups 1 General cleaning by execom 2 Always done before the start of every sem and summer hehe

(4) Tambayan Renovation

1 Retiling --> APO TILES (8909697) 2 Platform and bulky blackboard removal --> Katz’ contact (carpenters in San Mateo)

3 New bulletin board --> Kuya Mario 4 Newly painted furniture (wooden couch, galactice,

table, bag rack, CDC rack, committee bulletin board, cheese table, execom table, TV rack, pigeon hole and drawer, hanging label) --> Ecosocers lang nagpintura ng summer; actually kami nina Raym and Aries

5 New corkboards --> Full Blast Apps (Ask Cathy the batchhead)

6 New cushions for the wooden couch set -->


Capistrano Upholstery (but this is in Palanan Makati pa near our house and I already lost the calling card. Eek :( Find a new contact nalang since malayo rin naman siya :D)
