Cycling fun for children in the Easter Holidays
Hadleigh Cycling Club will be delivering a full season of activities in 2023 for youngsters who love cycling and want to improve, or even race.
The season will start on Friday 14th April with a British Cycling Go-Ride Race Day at Hadleigh Cricket Club. It will be a full day event (from 10:00 to 16:00) run by a team of British Cycling certified coaches to help riders to develop their bike handling skills and core cycling techniques through fun activities and mini races. There will be groups catering for the full range of abilities. All the riders need to bring is a bike (in good working order) that can be used offroad, a helmet, suitable clothing, water and a packed lunch. The day will cost £25 per rider which will include an annual membership to Hadleigh CC and a special edition HCC T-Shirt. A discounted price of £15 is available to current members. Details of the day are available via www.hadleighcyclingclub.co.uk and entry via www.britishcycling.org.uk

The Junior Club also returns this season on Tuesday evenings, starting 18th April until the end of Summer. These sessions will be run weekly from 18:30 to 19:30 at Hadleigh Community Primary School, with a monthly ride on the Railway Walk to help our riders to build their confidence to ride in the ‘wild’. Our coaches will work with our young riders on specific skills and techniques to help them improve all the way through the season.
We are also working closely with British Cycling’s Eastern Region Team to create more opportunities including additional coaching sessions at Colchester’s Northern Gateway Sports Park, as well as support to try racing in a number of disciplines such as cyclocross, crit and track.
Adult membership of HCC is £12 for 2023 with the offer including two under18 children per adult.
The Club runs a social ride on Sundays usually starting at 9.00am from The George and there is a café stop. Currently, we’re also running regular rides on Fridays (women). The rides are weather dependant so, if in doubt, check our Facebook page @hadleighcyclingclub Twitter @HadleighCycling or www.hadleighcyclingclub.co.uk
