French's Care Haven
Hello to our readers, I hope you have all been keeping well. Our dog walk went well, we had nice people, some lovely dogs and no rain, what more can we ask. Dog walkers had soft drinks and cake at the farm and their dogs had some treats, so happy faces all around. I am looking forward to our team organising another dog walk in the year. Our Charity will be attending and having a stall at What’s about Hadleigh on Saturday 27th May in The Guildhall, which will be showcasing Hadleighs clubs, groups and societies. We have some more dates for your diary: On the 3rd June we will have a stand at Monks Eleigh fete and Frenchs will have our wonderful Open Day and BBQ on 17th June, where you can come and meet our donkeys, horses and ponies and our therapy dog Lucy, plus have some food a drink and enjoy the lovely environment our rescue animals live in.

On the 23rd June at Boxford village hall we have a Psychic Medium Evening, there should be some laughter and tears with a medium from Essex spiritual centre. Doors open at 6pm, Tickets for the event are £10. There will be a bar and raffle plus the chance to purchase 5 min tarot and pendulum. All proceeds will be given to French’s Care Haven, so we hope you can join us for a fun evening out. Please call Sharon on: 07999051401 or email Sharon: frenchs.100club@gmail.com
Some of our volunteers take a lead role in thinking of, putting together and attending our fund raising events, which I thank them all for and of course so do the rescued animals in our care.
In June our 100 club will re-start with tickets £30 a number, raffle ticket or tickets that you buy will last for a year, where there will be a raffle draw once a month with 3 prizes drawn each time, first prize is £50, so come on let’s get you in our monthly draw, please contact Sharon for your raffle tickets. Here in a photo we have University students at the farm with Annie and a photo of cheeky Lucy, who loves to sneak away with the volunteer’s gloves. When the students have any spare Saturday mornings free, they come to us and do some volunteer work, which is always a great help and a nice break away from the Uni course work for the students.
I am still drawing a blank when it comes to local volunteer help, this is for general help in the care and management of the animals and their surroundings and we also need a man who will help us with ground, fencing and shelter maintenance. I am saddened that no one has come forward, there are so many people out there who are semi-retired or retired, that surely have a couple of hours a week to spare to help such a worthy local Charity? Please contact me - Jann - if you can help.
French’s is a charity on your doorstep. Can you help, either with time, donations, or sponsorship? You are welcome to come along and meet our animals. Call me for an appointment. Jann on: 07747 755556 or email: jann.turner@hotmail.co.uk
