The Village Edition, November 2022
Hadleigh Cycling Club wants to increase the number of cyclists, of all ages, in and around the town: to improve health, well-being, sustainability and enjoyment. To reduce barriers to participation, the Committee has decided to keep down the cost of membership in 2023 to £10 for sign-ups before the end of the year. The offer includes up to 2 children per adult membership. Membership is FREE to anyone who orders a club jersey, gilet or jacket before 9th November. Details of how to renew or join the Club and take advantage of the offer can be found at www.hadleighcyclingclub.co.uk
The Club, together with Hadleigh Town Council, has organised another FREE bike maintenance session which will take place on Saturday, 26th November from 10am – noon at the Ansell Centre. Contact 07811435883 to book a place. The aim is to teach riders how to deal with a road side puncture and simple repairs. Participants will need to bring their own bikes to work on.

It has been great to follow the progress of HCC youngsters in cyclo-cross races across the Eastern Region. Ciaran, Charlie and Aaron have performed creditably in the Under 14 boys’ races and Evie has had some success in the Under 12 girls’ races. Post-Covid, the regular Junior Club sessions have not taken place. Recently, Junior coaches met with Simon King, who is standing down after 10 fantastic years’ service, to plan next year’s programme.
The Club runs a social ride on Sundays usually starting at 9.00am from The George and there is a café stop. Currently, we’re also running regular rides on Fridays (women). The rides are weather dependant so, if in doubt, check our Facebook page @hadleighcyclingclub Twitter @HadleighCycling or www.hadleighcyclingclub.co.uk
