Happenings from the Chief DOUG EGLY

Chief Executive Officer

Dear Member It is hard to believe that 2018 is coming to a close. Another year has filled with many accomplishments. To name a few, we started our own real estate company, Premier Properties at Haig Point, and it is off to a great start. We have sold six Club-owned properties and have 10 new home builds in the pipeline. We continued to enhance our management team by adding an established Director of Human Resources, Marlowe Williams, and a new CFO will be starting at the first of the year. We have ambitious proposals for 2019 some of which we have shared with you. Some of these projects are in the preliminary stages, and as communicated, there will be several open sessions to keep members up to speed on the progress. Again, proposals such as the Welcome Center development project will not, and cannot, proceed without your support and a member vote.

I hope all of you have taken the time to review the Member Survey distributed on November 29th. I was particularly happy to see that the rating for CEO Communications rose to 90%. I have made better communication with the membership a priority in my work and will continue to refine my effort in the coming year. The Board and I have begun planning the agenda for the Annual Meeting scheduled for February 18, 2019. We will have a full agenda that will provide much information on our vision and plans for 2019. Please mark your calendars to attend the meeting in person at the Clubhouse or online via phone or the internet. Daufuskie Island was blessed this year in staying out of harm’s way of a very serious hurricane and for that we are very grateful. This holiday season could have been a much different experience for all of us, however, we will all enjoy festivities in our Haig Point homes and at our Club venues. Please join us for the Annual Tree Lighting at the Clubhouse on December 1st, the Christmas Eve Gathering at the Mansion on December 24th and New Year’s celebrations held at both the Clubhouse and the Mansion.

Nancy and I sincerely wish all of you and yours a peaceful and joyous new year.
