Tennis SUPER BOWL ROUND ROBIN Saturday, February 6th 10 AM - 12 AM You don’t need to wait until Super Bowl Sunday to know who will win the Big Game. This format will form two teams based on the two teams who are playing in the Super Bowl. One team will represent the Tampa Bay Bucs and one team will be the Kansas City Chiefs. The teams will then play matches against each other. The team who wins the most matches will be the winner. Register HERE
PICKLEBALL Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays 2 PM The Hottest sport in America has come to Haig Point! Temporary pickleball courts have been installed on court 6 at the award – winning Haig Point Tennis Center. Pickleball Socials are scheduled on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 2:00. SERVING UP AND OUT The serve is one of the most important shots in the game. Too often the serve is affected by what we see and not what we feel. Once we toss the ball up to serve, we see the ball way up above our shoulder and head and we feel we need to hit down on the ball to get it in the service court. But just the opposite is true. When we are about to serve and looking at the service court, we are looking at the target through the net – a straight line from your eyes to the target will go through the net. The same is true if we looked at the service court through the strings at contact – we are still looking through the net. This feeling of hitting down will lead to the shoulders falling down and bending at the waist. Take a look at Kate Woodward (left) and notice how she is hitting up and out, not hitting down.

Equestrian FEBRUARY EVENT SCHEDULE
BEACH RIDING SEASON is almost over! Members and their guests receive $30 off the regular $150 price per person for the 1.5 hour beach ride, an incredible ride that truly is unique to Daufuskie Island. Don't let this season slip by without taking advantage of an experience that some travel across the country to experience! Rides are available at 11:30 and 2:30 Tuesdays through Sundays, ages 10+. NEW! KIDS ECO ADVENTURE ON HORSEBACK with Claire Sistek Saturday, March 13th 11 AM Learn the basics of island plants and animals from the back of a horse! No riding experience needed, side walkers will be provided. Call the Equestrian Center to reserve a spot. 1-hour ride Ages 10+ | Open to five participants | $75 per child
RIDE ‘N WINE Tuesday, March 23rd 4 PM Leisurely ride followed by wine and hors d’oeuvres. All rider levels welcomed. Call to book a group of any level riders with specialty platters created by Chef Taylor. Available for personal bookings as well. $55 per person
ECO TOUR WITH CLAIRE SISTEK Sunday, March 28th "Island Indigenous and Invasive Mammals" 10 AM With a degree in Biology and a wealth of knowledge of the island ecosystem and birds, Claire will be leading a morning trail ride tailored to those interested in learning about the unique island environment via horseback. Enjoy scenic shaded trails and the nature of Daufuskie best experienced between the ears! No riding experience needed. Limited to four participants | $100 per person
