Happenings from the Chief DOUG EGLY

Chief Executive Officer

Dear Member We enter June with construction momentum. Osprey Construction has completed and staged the house at 32 Mongin Run, and one additional house at The Sanctuary. Two homes ready for purchase and immediate occupancy. Osprey will complete the interior of the third Sanctuary house by the fourth quarter and begin construction of a fourth this month. Osprey Construction has been selected as a member of the Southern Living Custom Builder Program. Program members receive exposure in the popular Southern Living magazine. Lowcountry Creations, LLC, based in the Charleston Tri-County area has joined our Haig Point preferred builders. Lowcountry is a full service residential home builder. The company is finishing up its first home on Daufuskie and has committed to building a model home at Haig Point. Great news!

While on the topic of homes, I want to remind you that hurricane season begins June 1st and runs through November 30th. If you have not done so, I urge you to take the time to review hurricane preparedness for your homes. Now is the time to trim and remove damaged trees and limbs, and to clear clogged areas or debris. Consider retrofitting to secure and reinforce roofs, windows and doors to reduce property damage. Chef James is being praised for bringing fresh ideas to the kitchen. I have received numerous compliments on the execution of his culinary skills. We are excited to enjoy a new Grill Room menu this month as well as new dishes at the Calibogue Club. With the warm weather upon us, remember to protect yourselves from the sun and to stay hydrated so we may enjoy being outdoors comfortably and safely.
