PET WASTE BAG DISPENSERS

By now we hope that most of the membership and their guest have seen and used the recently installed pet waste bag dispensers located along the beach road, docks and Community Park. We urge that all pet owners use these bags when they have forgotten to bring their own. No one likes to step on pet pooh and it’s unsightly. Diseased feces can have various bacteria and viruses such as giardia, ringworm, tapeworm, salmonella, Ecoli , etc. Flies consume and lay eggs in diseased feces and will deliver it to your homes and kitchens free of charge. Pet waste left on the ground will end up in the water table affecting people, other pets and wildlife which can have a serious effect on our ecosystem. These dispensers have been installed to help prevent the spread of diseases to other pets, humans and wildlife. Please be considerate of your neighbors and yourself and pick up after your pets. Remember to keep your pets on leashes outdoors. DO NOT DISCARD USED BAGS ANYWHERE, put them in a proper waste container.

GOLF TIP OF THE MONTH Having trouble getting out the bunker? Try the “Splashing Sand Drill” to help give you confidence in the bunkers! “Splashing Sand Drill” Get into a bunker that is close to the green. Once in the bunker, set up like you are going to hit a bunker shot without a ball though. Take many swings where you hit the sand and splash it onto the green. This will help reduce the anxiety of playing bunker shots.

Intermediate Drills 10:00 am - 11:00 am THE MOST IMPORTANT SHOT IN THE GAME The service return is one of the most important shots in your next doubles match. The return needs to be consistent and aggressive at the same time. When it’s your turn to return the serve, think about these tips: 1. On wide returns, open your stance to increase your reach. 2. Hold the finish and don’t let the racquet drop after the shot for a long second. 3. Have specific target – hit deep to the server’s feet, wide to the outside, or lob over the server’s partner. 4. Make sure your feet are pointed at the server, not the net man. 5. Hold your racquet lower in the ready position.
