THE KEY MOVE All the great players have it; the key move that starts the service motion. Do you know what it is? Take a close look at the better servers and you will see the serve usually starts with a small shoulder rotation. Even before the toss begins its movement, a small turn of the shoulders will create a bit of tension in the upper body. That tension is released as the motion begins to uncoil. Think about your own motion and see if you have the key move.
