FRIENDLY REMINDERS FROM THE HAIG POINT ARCHITECTURAL REVIEW BOARD
• DECKS, PATIOS, FIRE PITS AND LOW WALLS - DECKS, PATIOS, FIRE PITS OR WALLS (NOT EXCEEDING 15” IN HEIGHT) MAY BE CONSTRUCTED WITHIN THE LOT SETBACKS AND SHOULD BE DESIGNED TO COMPLEMENT THE HOUSE ARCHITECTURE AND PROVIDE A TRANSITION FROM THE HOUSE TO THE SURROUNDING LOT USING WEATHER-RESISTANT WOOD, BRICK, STONE, TILE OR TABBY CONCRETE.
• OUTDOOR COOKING GRILLS - PERMANENT OUTDOOR COOKING GRILLS SHALL BE SCREENED FROM NEIGHBOR OR PUBLIC VIEW AND MUST BE APPROVED BY THE ARB PRIOR TO INSTALLATION. PORTABLE GRILLS NEED NO APPROVAL, BUT MAINTAINING A NEAT APPEARANCE IN THE IMMEDIATE AREA IS ENCOURAGED.
• FLAGPOLES, FLAGS AND RECREATIONAL EQUIPMENT - NONE OF THESE ITEMS SHALL BE LOCATED OUTSIDE THE LOT BUILDING SETBACKS AND THEIR PLACEMENT MUST BE APPROVED BY THE ARB. FLAGPOLE MAXIMUM ALLOWED HEIGHT IS 20 FEET, SHOULD BE NEUTRAL IN COLOR AND MAY BE INSTALLED ONLY AFTER ARB APPROVAL. FLAGS MAY BE AS LARGE AS 3 FEET BY 5 FEET, MUST BE MAINTAINED IN GOOD CONDITION AND, IF OTHER THAN AN AMERICAN FLAG, MAY BE FLOWN FOR BRIEF PERIODS IN THE FRONT OF THE HOUSE. RECREATIONAL EQUIPMENT, INCLUDING BASKETBALL BACKBOARDS, SHOULD BE OF SUBDUED COLORS AND LOCATED IN AREAS NOT VISIBLE TO PEDESTRIAN TRAFFIC AND MUST BE APPROVED BY THE ARB PRIOR TO INSTALLATION.
