HAIG POINT APP for IPHONE and ANDROID

Dear Member Our fall season is off to a wonderful start. We hope that you’ll bring your friends and family to Haig Point this holiday season to enjoy the club. We have lots of exciting events planned. The following pages will detail all the great Happenings here at Haig Point. And remember, you can always use our online calendar for the most up-to-date information. Login in to haigpoint. com and click on the VIEW MONTHLY CALENDAR button just below the rotating banner images. HAIG POINT III BOAT The Long-Term Ferry Plan is in full force. Despite some setbacks, we are expecting final Coast Guard approval on the Haig Point III within the coming weeks. She is a beautiful example of the full renovations we are doing to our treasured boats. Underneath the hatch are new engines designed to power the III boat for many years to come. ANOTHER SHOWCASE CONTRACT

HOME

In closing, I would like to say how THANKFUL we are for our supportive community. Several of our beloved members have passed in recent months and the community has turned out to provide their families an immeasurable amount of support. From helping organize services to providing home cooked meals, we have been there for one another each and every day. It is the most important piece of what makes our community so special.

Previously feature on HGTV’s Island Life, the showcase home at 55 Forest Lake Drive is under contract.

Later this month we’ll launch a smart phone app that will be available for free download on the iTunes and Google Play stores. The new app is designed by ClubEssential, our website and accounting partner for club operations, and will improve the convenience of booking events and making reservations. You’ll only be required to sign-in once, then you’ll have access to Ferry and Water Taxi Reservations, Event Calendar, Dining Reservations, Tee Times, Tennis Reservations, Directory, and Online Statements. In addition, we’ll be able to streamline communications through push notifications sent directly to your phone.

The emotional story told by Wesley Bauguess regarding her late husband, Major Larry Bauguess was very touching and helped us all remember that Freedom isn't Free. Thank you again to all of those who donated!

Tennis IMPROVE YOUR FIRST STEP The ability to move is directly related to your center of gravity. When you are in the ready position don’t make the common mistake of having your feet too close together. The ideal ready position should show your feet are shoulder width apart. Notice in the picture how Novak’s feet are outside of his shoulders. Even if you can only widen your base by two or three inches, that will help. Another common mistake in the ready position is bending over too much. The bending should be done with the knees and the back should be comfortably upright. Again, look at the picture of Novak and see how his shoulders are up, his back is straight, and the racquet head is above the hands – another common mistake.

CHEESEBURGER IN PARADISE ROUND ROBIN The Irma-delayed Cheeseburger in Paradise Round Robin was finally held last month. The food and tennis was spectacular. Thanks to everyone who played.
