REINDEER ROUND ROBIN Saturday, December 11th Annual benefit for the Deep Well Fund on Saturday, December 11th, from 10 AM - 12 PM. The entry fee will be a minimum $25 donation. Be sure to bring your favorite Christmas cookies for the exchange following the tennis. In addition, special raffle items will be sold to benefit the charity.
THE ABCS OF SERVING Choosing the right target is always one of the more challenging parts of playing tennis, but the truth is, most players have a very vague idea of the target; “I’m just trying to get it over the net and in the court.” So, when serving, think about three targets, Alley, Body, and Center. When serving to the deuce court, the alley or wide serve can pull your opponent out wide and open up the middle of the court. The center serve will hamper your opponent by reducing their options on the return. But the most effective serve is the body serve. A well-placed body serve will prevent your opponent from stepping into the ball, force them to step away, and usually hit a weak return. Just what your partner at the net is looking to attack and end the point.
