Haileybury Foundation Giving Day From the Director of Development & Alumni Relations Russell Davidson
On Giving Day, our aim is to have 400 donors giving to the event at the end of the 24 hours. All donations received on the day will be doubled, thanks to the generosity of our matching donors. We are indebted to those members of our community who have agreed to be matching donors. From alumni to past parents, former staff and businesses, we thank you. Regardless of size, all donations count and will contribute to an amazing cause – one that will change a student’s life forever and provide access to a world-class education.
On Thursday, 11 August 2022 something special is happening at Haileybury. Haileybury will be conducting its first ever Giving Day with the aim of providing a scholarship for a student who would never have dreamed of being able to attend our School. The funds raised from the Giving Day will provide an enormous impact. They will support a scholarship, to be known as the Haileybury 130 Scholarship, celebrating 130 years of the School. One-hundred per cent of all funds raised on the day will be directed to this scholarship, which will be open to a student in Years 7, 9 or 10 at any of Haileybury’s Melbourne campuses.
All Giving Day donors will be notified of the first scholarship recipient when announced in September 2022. The scholarship recipient will begin at Haileybury at the commencement of the 2023 School year. All donors will be communicated to regularly with updates on the recipient’s progress throughout their time at Haileybury.
The key aspects of the Giving Day are as follows: > The campaign will run for 24 hours and will commence at 8.00 pm on Wednesday, 10 August 2022. > All donations, regardless of size, will be doubled. > Our goal is 400 donors. The aim is to fund a scholarship in perpetuity for a student who would not have otherwise been able to attend Haileybury. > The scholarship will be known as the Haileybury 130 Scholarship. > Gifts of all sizes are encouraged and are tax deductible. One-hundred per cent of all funds raised will go towards the Haileybury Foundation. All donations, large or small, will have a significant impact and provide a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for a deserving student. Please consider giving back on 11 August 2022 to help our future leaders soar. And soar they do!

From the Vice Pricipal Scott Doran
On Thursday 11 August, Haileybury will hold our inaugural 2022 Giving Day in support of our 130 Year Scholarships. Haileybury has always been committed to providing an education that supports our students to achieve their very best, encourages them to explore and develop their passions, and equips them to be contributing global citizens.
Our commitment to this holistic, evidence-based approach to education has not wavered during the past two, challenging years. In fact, it has been a strength that has seen our community come together to support our students and helped them learn in innovative and flexible ways. Haileybury’s delivery of remote learning in this time was recognised in the 2021 Australian Education Awards with our school winning the Best Remote Learning Program. For 130 years the Haileybury’s Scholarship program has aimed to allow for as many students as possible to benefit from the education excellence that we offer. An education that will enable them to explore their talents, ignite their potential and give them the skills and knowledge to change the world. Haileybury Foundation Scholarships are awarded to students who do not have the financial means to commence, or continue, their Haileybury education. Students who
have demonstrated strengths, interests and achievements in a broad range of activities. The recipients of this Scholarship are enthusiastic and reliable contributors to all facets of life, in and outside of school. Our experience during the past two years has also reminded us of the importance of education in allowing our children to fulfil their potential and live their best lives. While we know the value of a Haileybury education, we also know that not everyone has the same opportunity to join our community. Help us share the spirit of Haileybury so that we can offer a greater number of Haileybury Foundation Scholarships and help more young people have the education they deserve. I’m excited to contribute to this wonderful opportunity – I hope you are too! Scott Doran Vice Pricipal
