Our official opening ceremony and...

Halcyon Landing’s lavish multi-million dollar Recreation Club and Leisure Precinct has been officially opened by the Minister for Housing and Public Works, Tim Mander. The Minister was joined by Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson, Halcyon Joint Managing Directors, Paul Melville and Bevan Geissmann and Project Director Chris Carley at the Project Director Chris Carley, Minister for Housing and Public Works Tim Mander, Joint Managing Directors Bevan Geissmann and Paul Melville with Sunshine Coast Mayor Mark Jamieson

ribbon cutting ceremony in front of 150 home owners. Mr Mander commended Halcyon for its delivery of the state-of-the-art facility, noting the developer’s efforts in meeting the housing needs of modern seniors. He said he was “blown away” by the project when he first visited the site six months ago. “What makes a place like this successful is the sense of community,” Mr Mander said. With the formalities over it was time for the home owners to celebrate at the ‘Sunset after party’, enjoying cocktails with new friends as the sun went down. The party kicked on well into the evening underneath a beautiful full moon and it wasn’t long before the dance floor was packed with revellers.

Water aerobics, circuit training or even a healthy debate on current affairs, there’s something to suit a broad range of tastes. The latest addition in the community is yoga classes. Halcyon Landing 10-Star eco option

for environmental initiatives, Halcyon has introduced a new option for buyers who want to reduce their energy costs even further. The goal is to make it more affordable for home owners to live. However, the objective was not just to reduce rising utility costs, but also to further the desire of our marketplace to touch the earth more lightly and reduce carbon emissions. Despite being on track to reduce carbon emissions at Halcyon Landing by up to 350,000 tonnes per annum, producing over 350 megawatts of power *, Halcyon is now set to be the first Retirement Living developer to introduce a 10-Star energy rated efficient

You can see by this recent aerial photo, construction of the new Maroochy River Golf course is well underway. The fairways and greens are emerging from the earthworks and recent rain has meant that the grass is growing well. The photo also gives an idea of just how close Halcyon Landing is to the future Graham Marsh designed course.

Wild, Wild West - Halcyon style

More than 160 sheriffs, cowboys, cowgirls and indians all moseyed on up to the new Rec Club for a recent ‘Wild, Wild West’ themed party. What a hoot! The home owners even built an amazing western street prop in the community’s work shed as part of the evening’s decorations. Live music, dancing, good friends, a spitroast and a somewhat out of theme conga line ensured that the fun night was indeed a memorable one. Even our newest home owners had an absolute ball, commenting that the dress up party was not something that they would have gone to before they moved here!
