WHY? UNITE THE CITY In cooperation with the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs and other city partners, Philadelphia Parks & Recreation is initiating a groundbreaking sporting event.
CELEBRATE DIVERSITY Acknowledging Philadelphia’s rich diversity of international cultures, a city-wide soccer tournmanent will showcase the camaraderie, sportsmanship, cooperation, and pride emblematic of Philadelphia.
SHARE THE BROTHERLY LOVE OF THE GAME We will bring together multi-cultural sports clubs that share the love of soccer.
HOW IT WILL WORK WORLD CUP STYLE SOCCER TOURNAMENT The tournament will showcase various immigrant communities from all over Philadelphia. 32 teams representing 32 countries from across the globe spanning five continents will compete in fall 2016 in an elimination tournament.
TOURNAMENT DESIGN • MATCHES will be held at local recreation facilities as close to team neighborhoods as possible. • FINAL ROUNDS will be held at larger, stadium-style venues such as university locations. • CHAMPIONSHIP GAME will be held at Citizens Bank Park. This is a free admission event that is open to the public. This is the first soccer game held at this iconic location.
A COLLECTIVE EFFORT Various city agencies are collaborating on this inaugural event, including: • Philadelphia Department of Parks & Recreation • Office of Immigrant Affairs • Office of the City Representative • Office of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy

GAME PLAY SEPTEMBER 9TH: Game play begins with kick-off matches. Group play at Parks & Recreation venues throughout September.
OCTOBER 7TH: Knockout rounds begin at local universities.
NOVEMBER 5TH: Championship game at Citizens Bank Park
