GENERAL INFORMATION
STAGE DOOR ACCESS
The stage door is located at rear of the Hammond Theatre. This provides direct access to the backstage area of the Theatre.

DOCK DOOR
We have a loading dock at the rear of The Hammond Theatre. This provides access through the dock straight onto the stage via double height doors (Midstage). There is a slight incline up to the doors along with a fixed, covered canopy outside it.

THE SPACE
The auditorium with a semi sprung floor is configurable as both an end stage black box theatre with a black Harlequin studio vinyl dance floor or, with the use of the moveable legs and overhead acoustic reflectors, it becomes a concert hall.
The stalls seating bank is retractable allowing a full space flat floor. There are two independent forestage lifts allowing for a variable forestage, large open orchestra pit or a smaller opening with the orchestra stretching back under the forestage.
Over-stage bars are a mix of motorised, drill powered and manual hemp sets and includes
an upstage white vinyl cyclorama cloth, moveable swipe black cloth and a full proscenium acoustically transparent projection screen.
The Hammond Theatre auditorium has a variable capacity depending on what your event or show requires.
The auditorium seats 368 people in standard configuration or 333 with the orchestra pit or flattened
space. Access to the auditorium from the foyer is from the stairs at the top of the stalls or via the side door on the right.
Lighting and sound control is from a room with open windows at the back of the Circle seating area.
Please note if you require an audio or lighting position in the stalls, this will remove 12 seats in total.

The Hammond Theatre does not have a fly tower which limits flying of scenic items.
Stage is flat, unraked.
White vinyl cyclorama permanent on furthest upstage fly bar.
Stage is a semi sprung blonde European oak floor. Alternatively, can be it covered with a black Harlequin studio vinyl dance floor. Scenery cannot be screwed or nailed to the floor.
Purple velvet house tabs (drawn) are electrically operated from prompt desk.
There are four sets of double-sided legs as standard. They are double sided with one being black material and the other acoustic wood panel. They can be rotated to any angle and adjusted in all directions.
Prompt desk stage left.
Audio show relay and calls to dressing rooms. Comms to Sound and lighting control points.
CCTV show relay and pit/conductor relay to prompt desk and flys. If specific communication points, cue lights or CCTV show relay are required, this is to be confirmed with the venue prior to arrival.
No onstage crossover behind cyclorama.
Crossover via building corridors (duration approx. 30 seconds) unless drapes flown to create a crossover.

FLYING
The Hammond Theatre is equipped with a mixture of electric pilewind winch and hemp bars.
There are 12 hemp sets with a SWL of 70kg uniformly distributed, and 10 pilewind winch bars with a SWL of 350kg uniformly distributed.
The cyclorama is rigged on to the last hemp by default. Three, full width, wool serge borders provide masking. These cannot be moved to other bars as they mask the acoustic panels.
There are also 4 other pilewind winch bars with contents that cannot be moved, which include 3 rows of Acoustic Panels and the Cinema projection screen. The flying systems must be operated by a member of The Hammond Theatre staff.
ORCHESTRA PIT FORESTAGE
The forestage area is a part of the Orchestra lifts infrastructure and can be adjusted to a variable height. This area also can have the black Harlequin studio vinyl dance floor on it. Use of the forestage forgoes use of the Orchestra pit. Note that the forestage front edge is in front of the main PA speakers.
CCTV camera to show conductor on monitors at prompt desk – alternative locations possible. Access to pit via backstage stairs. Use of pit requires removal of first 2 rows of stalls seating (35 seats).

GENERAL
The use of The Hammond Theatre equipment is at the discretion of the venue and is subject to availability. Unless previously agreed The Hammond Theatre operates a fixed rig policy and reserves the right to refuse to move any pre-rigged lights. Lighting requirements should be discussed and agreed with the venue prior to arrival.
