Inserting polygons

Starting out

1. Click on the create polygon 1. Find the general area you want to show 2. Uncheck the sponsored link

3. Draw the shape 2. The cross hairs will only be visible while the edit window is open

3. Make sure all layers are unchecked

4. Right click on Temporary Places and add a folder 5. Give the folder a name

4. Edit the colours of the lines, fill and opacity 6. Right click on your folder

5. The placemark and the layer are now shown in your 7 Your file will be saved as a .kmz file. You can email and share this file and when it is opened all your placemarks, images etc. will open in Google Earth 6. 8. Keep this folder highlighted all your new placemarks etc will be located here


Inserting placemarks

Inserting images

1. Open the create placemark

2. Give it a name

1. Open the placemark

3. Change the icon for the placemark 2. Find the path of the image Copy

4. Enter descriptive text here

3. Paste the path (yours may be different) into the placemark box - make sure you add the .jpg

5. To edit the placemark, right click on the icon and click ‘properties’

5. Resize in a graphics program e.g. Photoshop

4. The image may be too big!

6. Click on the icon and your information will appear 6. Image resized and inserted
