Post-Rationalization

Postrationalization. Hanneke van Deursen I tend to look around a lot. I have trained myself to be quick with my phone and take a photo of the things that quite simply I find beautiful. You could call it rigorous documentation of my developing taste. You could also call it obsessive. Looking back through my photos from this semseter I have pulled a selection and begun to analyze what it is that I am consistently drawn to. In pursuit of the sketchbook-as-diary, these photos show the things I am looking at in the city. They are purposely void of chronology. Instead, they are arranged to allow for connections across moments and places. The following is a collection of my snapshots, loosely categorized, taken during my time in London and through my travels this semester.

Light/Shadow.

Views/Perspectives.

Nature + Architecture.

Anomalies.

Construction/Machine Aesthetics.

Looking Up.

Patterns.
