A Letter From The Owner

• Welcome to Harbor View Hotel

• Harbor View Hotel has been dubbed, “The Hotel that Saved a Town,” for the important role it played in bringing tourism to Edgartown after the collapse of the Whaling Industry.

• The Vineyard Gazette on November 21, 1890, launched a contest asking the public to send suitable names for the new hotel. In the end, the people of Edgartown understood that their new hotel’s greatest asset was the harbor it looked out upon, so it was named “Harbor View Hotel.”

• I’m honored to carry the torch of this historic hotel.

• Since acquiring the hotel in 2018, we completed a top-to-bottom restoration that preserved the historic elements of the hotel, while offering guests modern luxury.

• As one of the larger businesses on the Island, I’m fully committed to reducing our carbon footprint to fight global warming. We’ve invested more than $5 million in making the property more energy efficient and eco-friendly.

• We’ve replaced our mechanical systems

• Installed smart thermostats to be able to regulate the energy more efficiently.

• Replaced all our plumbing and installed low-usage showerheads and toilets.

• We’ve invested in new trash compactors that have reduced trash pick-up by 50%.

• Making our hotel environmentally friendly is an ongoing process, and we appreciate the support of our guests in this effort.

• I wish you an amazing experience at Harbor View Hotel and hope you create many beautiful memories from your stay on Martha’s Vineyard.

Sincerely,

- Since

Welcome To Harbor View Hotel

It is our distinct pleasure to welcome you to Martha’s Vineyard and our beloved Harbor View Hotel. We are committed to making your visit as memorable as possible.

During your stay, we hope you experience all that the island has to offer, including oyster tours, biking, kayaking, sightseeing, boating, swimming, and more. With our central location, you are only steps away from beaches, bike paths, ocean adventures, and the shopping and restaurants of downtown Edgartown.

The resort offers three distinct dining outlets on the property. The award-winning Bettini Restaurant serves breakfast and dinner in a one-of-a-kind setting with a spectacular view of Edgartown Harbor. The more casual Clubhouse offers specialty coffee and grab-n-go breakfast in the morning, as well as a full bar and small bites all day with convenient access to the Veranda. Then, there is the seasonal Roxy Pool Bar with a full bar and lunch menu, located near the heated, outdoor pool.

While on the property, we welcome you to relax on our expansive veranda and enjoy our heated outdoor saltwater pool, complimentary bicycles, and many other resort amenities, including our newly-constructed wine room at Bettini. The Wine Room at Bettini offers an outstanding collection of world-class wines, carefully curated by Harbor View Hotel owner Bernard Chiu and the sommeliers at Bettini.

Please let us know if there is any way we can help make your stay more comfortable or your visit more enjoyable. We are delighted you are here with us, and we will do all we can to make your time with us a vacation to remember.
