Most in-demand energy efficient features for property seekers
Energy efficiency and sustainability have become increasingly important in the property industry in recent years, as homeowners seek to reduce their impact on the environment.
According to a recent consumer survey by realestate.com.au, property seekers consider energy efficiency to be of high importance when buying or renting a home.
And of all energy efficient housing features on offer, solar was the most popular among consumers by far, with 71% of
respondents interested in solar power. This is not surprising considering our country’s high average sunshine hours per day.
Efficient lighting and good insulation were also important. According to Canstarblue, households can expect to save $236 a quarter by installing solar panels. Adding solar hot water and a solar battery can increase those saving further.
