Naughty Dragons Make Trouble author Natalie Jane Prior • illustrator Simon Howe
They’re getting DRAGONS!
JUNIOR FICTION
Ava and Jack are getting a new pet. Two, in fact. Forget about kittens and puppies, though – Ava and Jack are getting something much better. In the Laidley Hundreds, dangerous wild dragons live in the highlands. But dragons aren’t born bad – just naughty! The Dragons at Home Project rescues abandoned dragon eggs; once they hatch, the young dragons go to live with human families. But teaching a mischievous pair of dragons how to stay out of trouble isn’t easy, and Jack and Ava will have their work cut out for them with Graun and Fafnine. They might look sweet, but don’t let that fool you – these dragons can cause trouble like you wouldn’t believe.

DRAFT COVER
Hannah Plum loves fashion, fun, and junk food. Patti Woo is obsessed with detective novels, lives in leggings, and is definitely not Hannah’s friend. But the two girls are stuck at the beachside Heartbreak Hotel together while Hannah’s dad and Patti’s mum are out birdwatching and – yuck – falling in love. When a hotel guest’s beautiful pink wedding dress is stolen, Hannah is determined to get to the bottom of it. With a reluctant Patti in tow, the two girls are launched into an ever-deepening mystery. Why is a wedding planner sending secret signals to an unknown guest? Who’s leaving creepy wet diving relics in the hotel rooms? And could some long-lost, famous pink pearls be at the heart of it all? If Plum and Woo want to survive the summer, they’ll need to solve this mystery in style. But first, they’ll have to survive each other …

YOUNG ADULT
From the winner of the Ampersand Prize comes this smart, swoony LGBTQ YA novel about a teenage band on the way to the top – so long as they can hold it together. Liliana’s hitting all the wrong notes. She’s a sixteen-year-old exchange student with a secret crush on Carter, her new band’s smoking hot guitarist – but she’s also got a girlfriend back home. So when she writes a song about him and it lands the band a record deal, she quickly realises she’s in hot water. Soon, Liliana will have to choose – between an alluring boy and the girl she left behind, between love and lust, and between the fame that beckons and staying true to the music that’s in her heart. With shades of hit TV series Nashville, the musical passion of Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist and the band drama of Fleetwood Mac, this brilliant own-voices YA debut is perfect for music lovers everywhere.

Hands down!
If you do get sick, stay home! Take care of yourself and those around you by laying low, to help minimise the spread of viral and bacterial infections.
Your body restores itself in your downtime. So get lots of sleep to give your immune system plenty of time to build up its strength, and be the best it can be.

The snotty trail of the common cold.
You may get a temper ature
You, me, your mum, possibly your cat, we’ve all had one. The thing we call the common cold is caused by any one of around 200 pesky viruses. Here’s how it works.
Virus spreads.
Once the virus is inside your body, it will quickly move from cell to cell (see the lytic cycle!), until it enters your bloodstream and your lungs.
You might get a sore head
At this point you are cont agious
D ay 3
D ay 2
Achoo!
Snot happens.
Sneezing is an even more effective means of transportation for cold viruses. When you sneeze, the little blighters fly out of your face at 300kph, and can travel up to 4 metres.
One of the first symptoms you’ll notice is a runny nose. Your immune system creates more mucus to help defend against the virus.
D ay 1 Catching a cold.
There are only three ways in which a cold virus will typically get into your body: through your mouth, through your nose, or in through the mucus membranes
D ay 4
Right about here you will s t ar t to feel a bit sorr y for yourself
A little hoarse.
If the virus is replicating in your throat, it will probably become sore. This soreness is due to the cells in your throat rupturing as the virus spreads.

D ay 5 Ahem.
You might also get a cough. Each cough launches infectious particles of saliva and mucus (containing millions of viral microbes) into the air, helping the virus find new hosts.
Unlucky dip.
Of the 200+ viruses that can cause the common cold, ach virus has a different length of cont agion, and present with different s ymptoms.
D ay 6 Stay home.
While you are contagious, it is important to lay low, to stop the virus from spreading to other people.
Contagion.
Typically, you will become contagious about a day before you show any symptoms of having a cold. You are no longer contagious about 4-5 days after you feel the first symptoms.

Wolfred author & illustrator Nick Bland
Fancy Pants Tower is the biggest, shiniest building in the city. And Wolfred operates the lift.
PICTURE BOOK
A mesmerising new story about Wolfred, an endearing elevator operator, from the beloved author of the best-selling Very Cranky Bear books.
Each day he silently observes the extraordinary things he sees as he passes between the floors of the tower. To his boss, Wolfred isn’t important enough to notice. But Wolfred notices everything – big or small, normal or very, very strange ... Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel meets Oxenbury’s The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig in this hilariously oddball tale of Wolfred, an endearing elevator operator and writer, and the strange building he works in. ‘At Fancy Pants Tower, we pay by the hour – pushing buttons is all that’s required.’
Wolfred never did anything wrong.
The boss was a pig, rather boastful and big, and his trotters were covered in gold. He carried a dog that was small as a frog, and this is what Wolfred was told …

PICTURE BOOK
Windows is an uplifting story of how humanity has pulled together during the Coronavirus pandemic. Written from Patrick’s own experience of having to leave the family home due to his son’s Duchenne muscular dystrophy, Windows shows how five kids from different parts of the world connect and draw strength from their communities, all from behind the safety of their own windows. Heartwarming, hopeful and surprisingly funny, Windows will resonate with families all over the world and become a valuable time capsule of what life was like in 2020.

Once there was a drawing of a penguin. It was the cutest penguin ever. The penguin knew he was cute … And he didn’t like it one bit. The penguin doesn’t just want to be cute – he wants to look like a REAL penguin. Follow this penguin’s hilarious journey as he searches for a way to become less cute – giving all the other cute animal drawings in the sketchbook a stern talking-to along the way. But is there anything a drawing can do to change what it is?
On page seventeen swam a blue
whale.
‘You're too small and too cute to be a blue whale.’
He was too cute.
It was a cuteness conundrum.
The whale ignored him. to be done. He’d had enough. Something needed So he set off through the sketchbook.
