Each year, Harford Community College hosts a variety of cultural opportunities from national touring acts to local resident companies, jazz to classical to folk, magic to ballet to musical comedy. With the recent opening of the APG Federal Credit Union Arena, we have the opportunity to bring a series of quality concerts and special events that offer our residents a wide variety of artistic opportunities that are often only available in more urban areas. From month to month and year to year, you never know who will be gracing our stages, but you can be sure they will create an unforgettable memory. Check the various listings to select all of your favorites, but remember many shows sell out fast. Order your tickets online, at tickets.harford.edu, and you can select your favorite seat for any show. Our staff and volunteers want you to have the best possible experience before, during and after events. INTO THE LIGHT CONCERT WITH MATTHEW WEST The “Into The Light” tour allows Matthew West to share more of the 20,000 life stories he has collected over the last few years which became the songs on his last two groundbreaking albums. When CB’s dog dies from rabies, CB begins to question the existence of an afterlife. The Golden Dragon Acrobats present Cirque Ziva, a new world-class cirque spectacular that has been thrilling audiences across the United States since its creation in 2011. This fast-paced, technicallyinnovative performance showcases traditional Chinese acrobats, dance and costumes, ancient and contemporary music, and modern theatrical techniques. The renowned acrobats dazzle with amazing feats of athleticism, daring heart-stopping stunts, and the grace of their centuries-old art form. The traveling exhibition explores the life and career of Isaac Murphy, the son of a slave and one of America’s greatest jockeys, as well as the significance of horse racing as America’s first spectator sport. This traveling exhibition from the National Endowment for the Humanities features more than 100 artifacts, “please touch” interactive components, films, and videos.
