Academic individual work Museum of fragrances Andhra Pradesh 10
01 This thesis project is about thinking spaces in relation to smells. Odors play a critical role in connecting us with the surroundings Humans are capable of distinguishing millions of different smells through the smell receptors in the nose alone. Thus, this thesis proposes including the sense of smell in its spatial design process. The Repository of scent seeks to reify and blend the Indian perfume culture and International fragrance products through a experience museum and manufacturing area. The museum acts as a place for the collection of fragrances, experience the lingering fragrances and witness it being made in the factory.

THE GREEN FUTURE TYPE PROGRAM LOCATION SEM
Academic team work (6) Urban design T.Nagar, Chennai. 10
02 The challenge in this urban study is to analyze the most problematic zones of Chennai, considering high traffic and pollution levels - choosing a site which can be made more pedestrian friendly and minimizing vehicular traffic. A green an d sustainable city is a community of residents, neighbors, workers and visitors who strive together to balance ecological, economic, and social needs to ensure clean, healthy and safe environment for all members of the society and for generations to come.
BASE MAP
Theagaraya Nagar (T’ Nagar) is the foremost commercial hub for shopping in Chennai today. It is also a major hub for intra-city bus services. Historically, it was a planned residential neighbourhood with roads and streets radiating from Panagal Park. The disorderly expansion of commercial hub is causing an alarming amount of vehicular and pedestrian congestion accounting to a huge amount of CO2 emissions in the locality, which needs to be addressed .
| 11
BUILDING TYPOLOGY The existing building types show an increase in commercial buildings. Residential Apartments have increased in number.
SPATIAL DYNAMICS
This map shows the fluid relationship between human beings and the space around us. The orange marked buildings are in the verge of changing to commercial areas in the forthcoming years.

TREE PATTERNS
ROAD NETWORK MAPS Maximum pollution is caused by the exhaust from cars in T.nagar. Traffic congestion is at peak from 6.00pm - 7.00pm and 12.00pm -1:pm
A tree map with the position , count and densities was created. These images show the tree pattern and density in 3 predominant locations. Foreign trees

Propel industries INTERNSHIP : KSM Architecture PROGRAM : Office LOCATION : Coimbatore
Spaces can be felt and can be understood better when they are envisioned three dimensionally. A more conventional yet better way of expressing spaces and their uniqueness is by making a physical model. This model was made for the proposed office area of propel industries as a part of the internship program at KSM Architecture.
Gargoyles drain the water from the roof. There are two landscape Miyawaki trees to block visual connectivity of the office from the berms , one at the entrance and one near the security block. exterior areas.
| 27
Propel industry is engaged in stone shaping field. The client’s requirement was to design a climate responsive office complex abutting an existing office building. The proposed office for propel industries is horizontally spread instead of vertical development and has abundant green cover and relaxing spaces. The proposed structures are stone cladded to represent their field of expertise.
Landscape edge along the exterior road.
Walkways have slab projection , which is finished with ISMB

Academic individual work Tennis stadium Chennai, Tamil Nadu 06
05 The growth of metropolitan cities depends on the facilities provided for its inhabitants and how these facilities uplift the surrounding urban spaces. Stadiums are one such integral part of any city. They entwine people from different cultural backgrounds all over the world by using sports as the key element. One such sport is tennis , for which this proposed stadium is built for. Located in chennai, this new stadium would be a new landmark for this growing city. Biomimicry is the process of imparting the functional and spatial characteristics of bio-organisms. The thought of a jellyfish flowing through spaces endlessly depicts a sports person’s journey. The stadium is designed based on the systematical functioning of jellyfish. Food and water are important for survival on this planet. but jellyfish being an exception feeds and excretes water through the same organ, which is similar to the stadium in which the people visiting it are the ones that give life to it. Like water, the people approach the stadium radially to reach the vomitoriums and exit through the same.
The spectator use zones in the site are shown. The Spectator parking is divide into two zones to reguaccess points to the stadium are in a radial arrange- late the traffic and the flow of vehicles during peak ment. hours.

Academic individual work Architecture college Tamil Nadu 05
06 The first step towards architectural education begins at college level. The spatial organization, the way their education atmosphere revolves , the environmental impact the building has and the nuances of the built and unbuilt spaces inspire the young minds to think and pave way for a better society. Most importantly, sharing and discussing is an integral part of the curriculum and the proposed school of architecture is built with interaction as its base. Taking interaction between students as the core element of architecture course, the campus in designed with ample gathering spaces. As a starting point of the design process, a noise level analysis was made, based on which the various functional spaces were arranged. Near the main road where the noise decibel is highest, entry and parking is provided as it can act as a buffer-zone.

Form Development
Ground floor plan
The rectangular module is repeated.
The central space is a courtyard and the macro-level interaction space.
Common place in-between the classrooms are made as balconies.
Balconies serve are micro level interaction spaces between every studio.
The blocks are arranged to enable free air flow inside.
Workshops are centrally placed for overall ease of participation
First floor plan
| View showing the central courtyard with gallery seating
Second floor plan
Every element in the design has its own unique character; Inspired from the De Stijl movement, Colors: red, blue, yellow, white and black are used to bring out the individuality of structural elements in the campus. De Stijl has had different variations through the years, but the movement started by architect Piet Mondrain emphasizes on the use of only vertical and horizontal lines.

BRIDGE THE GAP TYPE PROGRAM LOCATION SEM
Competition Rejuvenation of Favelas Brazil 09
07 The favelas have always been isolated from the cities. This proposal aims to solve this problem by introducing bridges that connect the city with favela and aims at including the favelas in the master plan of the city. The idea behind is to maintain the vibrancy of the existing Favelas, while retrofitting them with infrastructure facilities. It is based on the principle of Transit oriented development. The columns that support the bridges act as the community’s nodal points and consists of a watch-tower for improved security, a powerhouse that distributes electricity from city to the Favelas with cables that run along the bridges. Hospitals, Schools and administration offices are provided surrounding the columns of the bridges.
| 29
The sub-pedestrian pathway on the bridge lead to the arterial pathways which are made safe by the overlooking of the watchtowers.
The proposed dwelling units made of movable lightweight concrete are placed in harmony with the existing structures supporting the pedestrian pathways and have solar panels. The pathways have pockets of communal spaces, making the area more vibrant and provides interaction within the community

08 The competition brief was to design a comfortable living space for construction workers which is low cost adaptable to all environmental conditions. Construction workers are mostly migrant workers , who don’t have a definite place to go after a days work. This proposal would give them a place to call ‘ Home’. Keeping in mind the important condition of cost efficiency, bagasse board is used. Bagasse board ,is a recycled product is used to reduce the cost. The structure is temporary and easy for packaging and transporting.
Rectangular form is structurally stable and enables various nations of module.
