Have the people in Harper been having problems with their septic systems when they have to install a new one or repair a existing one to meet the requirements of Gillespie County? These are some of the questions that I have as I write this first article for our new format. I ask these questions because I have been hearing horror stories about the water bills that people have been receiving.

Congratulations to Deborah Pascarella and her team, Marie Cosper, Linda Graham, Lisa Noah, Jeanne Ortiz and Christina Kramer. Did you know that they were the first district in Texas to receive the Healthier U.S. Challenge Award at all campus levels (Elementary, Middle, and High School)?

They even had a visit from the head of the Child Nutrition Department of the Texas Department of Agriculture to hand out the awards in person.

In each issue of the paper, we will have a realtors corner where local realtors are invited to share their perspective with you about the real estate market and how to buy and sell real estate. If you are a realtor and you want to submit an article, please email it to me at editor@HarperTexasWeekly.com or call me if you want to drop it off. Since this is a new weekly column, I will start off. My name is Virgil Bierschwale I received my real estate license in 2006. I am associated with Armstrong & Skipper Real Estate here in Harper Texas. I try to cover what I call “The Paradise Triangle” which ranges from Junction to Austin to San Antonio and Back. Since I also publish this newspaper, I’m going to keep my portion short as I want to allow other realtors to toot their own horn. One thing I do want you to think about though is this. The best way to sell your property is to list it with a licensed realtor so that it will be included in the MLS as this will expose your property to ALL realtors, and to the publich via sites like Realtor.com and others. If you choose not to list your property with a realtor, or include it in the MLS, you are basically tring to sell a rare car by hiding it in a barn where nobody can see it or hear about it. In other words, your chances can very well be slim to none which is why I always recommend that you allow me to add your property to the MLS when I am given the opportunity to sell a property. My goals in real estate are to: 

Build a name for myself as being the person that can sell your property when others have had a hard time selling it.

Help the community to grow.

AVweb goes on to say that Jerry Chen did confirm that his new company is involved in the funding of Mooney and that a Chinese news website ran a story that said a Chinese real estate company called the Meijing Group had purchased Mooney, however Mooney has stated that Soaring America Corporation of Ahlhambra, Calif., is providing the funding under an arrangement that will be kept confidential. Better yet, what would you think about this if Japan had bought Mooney Aircraft after World War II?

Why do I bring your attention to articles like this? I believe it is the duty of the media to ask the questions that need to be asked. And to present the answers that are given to the community so that they can make their own decisions if they have any interest in the matter.

The idea proclaimed in Psalm 19 that "The Heavens are telling the glory of God," will be featured in a set of pieces based on the pitches derived by astronomer Johannes Kepler for the six known planets of his time. They are based on the actual ratios of motion and distance of the planets to the Sun. This work will frame the concert which will include a cantata of American Christmas Songs entitled, "Star in the East," which will feature Avenue, the children's choir directed by Hierholzer. As the great Medieval poet. Dante wrote, "Love is what moves the planets and the other stars." God manifests himself to us through the giving of his son and the heavens celebrate this with us. We will do our part by singing traditional carols as well as Bach's Motet, "Jesu Meine Freude," Jesus my Joy. The concert will close with a setting of the prayer of St. Francis by Hierholzer sung by Avenue Choir and The Chorale. St. Joseph's Halle - 212 W. Austin Street Tel: 830. 997.6869
