CASINO ROYALE The opening scene of Casino Royale appears in a black and white effect this instantly creates a 1940's, nostalgic feel to the film, the fact to that only men are present during this clip are wearing black smart suits creates a formal feel to the film. This idea too how there are only men present also tie into the fact that around the 1940's sexism was an issue and women were not seen to be working or earning a living. The outfit also suggests an idea of professionalism and wealth, as businessmen and bankers wear a similar style. Also how, who looks like the main character is wearing a long coat and black bowler hat adds to this nostalgic feel, because the costume that the main character is wearing creates a mysterious and detective feel to the clip creating suspense which is an integral part of any horror movie. But also how James Bond is a classic movie, therefore the audience suspect the classics in order for it to be a successful movie.

LA NOIRE The title sequence of "la Noire" appears to be in colour and animated, unlike casino Royale opening scene. It is an unusual approach to a horror genre, as the vibrant colours and animated characters and landscape create a Morden, unrealistic feel to the title sequence. Animations are commonly used and associated with children programs and films to create an unrealistic feel to them, this is why I was surprised to find out that the genre of the game was detective/horror. Differently to casino Royale, an American man narrates and describes the location of which looks like California, this creates a slightly eerie feel to the title sequence as the narrator is almost describing the location from a distance, looking down onto it in a usual way. From the tone of his voice and the descriptions that he is giving it’s almost like he is giving the audience a warning and a secret in-site to the area. Similarly to casino Royale the men present are wearing suits and bowler hats, this again creates a sense of professionalism and wealth. The theme of sexism is also similarly present as the women that are presented seem to be wearing dresses and unemployed. Because of this theme and style of clothing present I believe that the film is set around the 1960’s, so slightly later than Casino Royale. clothingresent I believe that the film is set around the 1960's, so slightly layer than casino Royale.
