4 OPTIONS FOR ARRANGING CHILD MAINTENANCE
If you are divorced and have children, both parents are expected to pay for the cost of bringing up their children till they are 16 years of age. There are 4 different options in which you can pay for your child maintenance.
FAMILY-BASED ARRANGEMENT 

You and your ex-partner mutually decides how child maintenance should be dealt. It is a general practice that both of the parents pay for child maintenance till the children are at least 16 years of age.
DIRECT PAY
If you are unable to decide how much money should be paid for child maintenance, you can consult Child Maintenance Service (CMS). CMS calculates the amount of money needed for the child maintenance. The partners still have to decide how they are going to pay the amount.
COLLECT AND PAY
Ex-Partners usually can have bad terms with each other. If the ex-partners don’t want to stay in contact, the CMS can collect the money from one partner and can send to the other.
COURT-ORDERED ARRANGEMENT
The child maintenance is decided by the court if a parent has a very high level of income. This thing is also practiced if it is to be decided how much to pay for step children or disabled children. Court-ordered arrangement is also used if either of the parent lives abroad.
