Dating back to the 1840s, the Old Swan Hotel is one of Harrogate’s oldest and most cherished hotels. The hotel’s Victorian splendour and traditional elegance is complemented by a modern and contemporary environment.

Cheques should be made payable to ‘Harrogate International Festivals’ and should be for the full value of your tickets. Please ensure you include the appropriate postage fee or a stamped addressed envelope. Please note all card transactions are subject to a £1 card charge. To pay by cash please visit our Box Office in person. Postage Fees In order to cover the cost of postage, there is an additional £1 charge, however you can choose to pick your tickets up on the door of the concert or at the office prior to the event. This season we’re delighted to present a truly international programme welcoming to Harrogate some of the brightest musical talent from around the world. Cellist Julian Lloyd Webber launches the series with his wife Jiaxin Cheng, followed by German pianist Christian Zacharias. The series also includes the multi-national, young ensemble the Navarra String Quartet and Middle Eastern violinist Dmitry Sitkovetsky. Award-winning pianist, Young-Choon Park closes the series in style. We look forward to welcoming you to the 2014 Spring Sunday Series in the beautiful surroundings of the Old Swan Hotel.
Julian Lloyd Webber & Jiaxin Cheng, cello Pam Chowhan, piano Sunday 26 January | 11am Tickets: £17, £15.50 Music royalty heads to Harrogate as Julian Lloyd Webber opens the Sunday Series in style. Julian is widely regarded as one of the finest musicians of his generation, collaborating with an extraordinary array of musicians from Sir Georg Solti to Elton John. Joined by his wife, cellist Jiaxin Cheng, who has performed with Julian for BBC Radio 3, Classic FM and BBC TV, they will be accompanied by Indian-born pianist Pam Chowhan. The trio promise a tremendously eclectic programme entitled ‘Tale of Two Cellos’, exploring music spanning centuries and styles from Rachmaninov, Vivaldi, Saint-Saens, and Bach. She’s the child prodigy who gave her first full recital at just seven and unsurprisingly the South Korean-born pianist went on to a global career. Now Harrogate has the opportunity to experience her phenomenal talent. Young-Choon Park takes us on a musical and emotional rollercoaster, opening with Beethoven’s truly virtuosic Sonata No 3. which is contrasted by the tragic sonorities of Sonata No. 8.
