Jimmy Carr: Terribly Funny

THU 23 SEP 2021 8pm Royal Hall

Contains jokes about all kinds of terrible things. Terrible things that might have affected you or people you know and love. But they’re just jokes they are not the terrible things. Having political correctness at a comedy show is like having health and safety at a rodeo. Now you’ve been warned, buy a ticket.

Fascinating Aida They’re back at last! Dillie Keane, Adèle Anderson and Liza Pulman are heading out on tour with a selection of old favourites, songs you haven’t heard before and some you wish you’d never heard in the first place. The songs are hilarious and topical - the glamour is unstoppable.

WED 29 SEP 2021 7.30pm Royal Hall With three Olivier Award nominations and over 25 million YouTube and Facebook hits for Cheap Flights and their incredibly rude Christmas song how can you possibly miss them?

Clinton Baptiste Goes Stratospheric

MON 04 OCT 2021 7.30pm Royal Hall

Clinton Baptiste is the hapless, unsubtle psychic from Peter Kay’s Phoenix Nights. Hear his tales of rubbing shoulders with the hippy dippy new-agers from La La Land and how he hits the big time in Vegas with his lavish psychic show. But a humbly spiritual man at heart, Clinton realises that something all that glitters ain’t gold and now returns to you, his beloved British audience to once again conjure up those pure selfless gifts he was born with.

Twisted Tales Vol. 2 Twisted Tales Vol. 2 is a brand new show by ‘Owdyado Theatre Company touring in 2021. Following on from the huge success of Twisted Tales, which toured across the UK in 2018 and 2019, this show is a new trilogy of darkly comic ‘tales of the unexpected.’

Eugene In the not too distant future, millionaire and inventor (think Elon Musk with a further attitude problem) ‘Hugh’ from HuBris industries is launching the first superhuman artificial intelligence at a press conference. And you’re invited.

THU 07 OCT 2021 7.30pm The Wesley Centre power point. Think The Terminator does a Ted Talk with Steve Jobs. A comedy theatre show that comes with integrated captioning via The Difference Engine, delivering part of the story through your smart device and meaning that every performance is deaf friendly.

‘Eugene’ is a show about what happens when we give technology the power over us, with an anthropomorphic

Jason Byrne: Audience Precipitation

FRI 08 OCT 2021 8pm Royal Hall

He’s back for more comedy chaos! Jason has learnt over the past few years that we all need to “play” a bit more in our lives. With this in mind, Jason will do what he does best, connecting with the audience in a way no other comic can. Whether it’s inviting or dragging (as it has been known) people up onto stage and making a “holy show of them” as they say in Ireland. Jason’s Audience Precipitation, will be a laugh out loud, must see show, with a light drizzle of audience participation… ooohhh clever that.

How To Be A Better Human: Chris Singleton In 2019...I lost my Dad. Well, I didn’t lose him. I knew exactly where he was – in the coffin at the front of the crem. How To Be A Better Human is a spoken word comedy about grief, loss and self-acceptance. It tells Chris’ story of losing two of the biggest relationships in his life - Dad and Wife - in the space of a

few months. It finds the lightness and humour in death, loss and divorce, exploring how they help us become better at empathising, connecting and understanding. How we can lose everything and still find the strength to rebuild. How growing a beard can be the best decision of your life, and why some hedgehogs are idiots.

Bridget Christie: Who Am I SAT 09 OCT 2021 7.30pm Royal Hall

FRI 08 OCT 2021 7.30pm The Wesley Centre

Bridget Christie is hot, but not in a good way. The 50 year old critically-acclaimed stand-up leaks blood, sweats, and thinks that Chris Rock is the same person as The Rock. The Foster’s Edinburgh Comedy Award winning comedian cannot ride the motorbike she bought to combat her mid-life crisis because of early osteoarthritis in her hips and RSI in her wrist; and wonders why there are so many films, made by men, about young women discovering their sexuality, but none about middle-aged women forgetting theirs. It’s a menopause laugh-a-minute with a confused, furious, sweaty lady who is annoyed by everything.

Kerry Godliman: BOSH

SUN 10 OCT 2021 8pm The Wesley Centre

Kerry’s back on tour after what she thought would be a little ‘she’ time. No chance. Her bosh-like nature will never let her rest. Well, that and a needy cat, a constantly disappointing camper van, ever-raging feelings of mum guilt and bewilderment at the phasing out of thimbles. All will be explained. As seen on Mock The Week, Live At The Apollo, Taskmaster, Michael McIntyre’s Big Show, Cats Does Countdown, After Life, Save Me and Call The Midwife and heard on The News Quiz, The Now Show and I’m Sorry I Haven’t A Clue.

Tez Ilyas: Populist

SUN 10 OCT 2021 8pm

The TIPI at Cedar Court Hotel

The brand-new stand-up show from the star of The Tez O’Clock Show (Channel 4), TEZ Talks (BBC Radio 4) and the multi-awardwinning Man Like Mobeen (BBC Three). Join Tez as he uses his trademark silly, smart and subversive approach to pit ordinary people against the establishment. Expect huge laughs, groans and shocks as Tez confronts the state of the world with his cheeky, provocative flair.

Not Lady Chatterley’s Lover

WED 13 OCT 2021 7.30pm Royal Hall A Mel Brooks style parody following the story line of the D.H. Lawrence novel… with a few twists. Long contemplative looks into the middle distance, moments of touching drama, plenty of farce and a gentle stroke of innuendo. This laughter filled parody will bring you high drama, high comedy and highlyraised eyebrows.

Iain Stirling: Failing Upwards Iain Stirling (Love Island and Taskmaster) is taking his ‘extremely funny’ (Telegraph) comedy back on the road for his biggest ever nationwide tour, following his 2018 sell-out smash U OK HUN? x.   Do you ever wonder how people manage to be normal? Iain does. So much so he’s written a brand new stand-up show about it. Join the ‘star of comedy’ (The i) as he explores his inability to function in the most basic of public settings, social media’s constant pressure to “live your best life” and that one time a man stole his shoes.
