Upper School Dress Code
Prep & SR5 School Uniform
The uniform guidelines must be followed and any infringement will be followed up
School Shirt
- Tucked in at all times unless participating in physical activities during lunch and break on the school fields
- The top button must be fastened at all times
- A Harrow Bangkok Prep/SR5 House tie, covering the top button, must be worn at all times.
- Sleeves can be rolled up, but must not be higher than the elbow
School Trousers and Skirts
- A Harrow Bangkok trouser or skirt that is longer than the knee must be worn.
- Trousers and skirts purchased outside the Harrow Bangkok Uniform Shop are prohibited
- A Harrow Bangkok belt must be worn when students are wearing trousers
- Trousers should be full length, meeting the shoes, and worn appropriately for a school environment.
Jackets (Bluers)
- Students are required to wear a school bluer on formal occasions and assemblies
- If students are cold, they should wear a school bluer or school jumper.
- Sweatshirts, sports tops or knitted cardigans are not permitted.
Boaters
- Students must wear a school boater on formal occasions and assemblies.
Shoes and Socks
- Shoes should be black leather with no thick soles
- Trainers and trainer-style shoes cannot be worn. Logos cannot be present.
- All shoes must be closed-toe and appropriate for a school environment.
- Shoes should be flat, and all block and stiletto heels are prohibited
- Harrow Bangkok ankle-high socks must be worn with trousers
- Plain white ankle-high socks must be worn with skirts
- Trainer-style sports socks are not permitted.
Hair
- Students are expected to wear their hair in a manner that does not draw attention to itself For example, dyed hair should only be of natural colour
- There should be no extreme styles such as, but not limited to, shaved line art.
- Hair accessories like clips, bands, and ribbons should be subtle and not draw attention.

- If a hairstyle, including length and colour, is worn because of cultural and/or social customs, it would fall under protected characteristics and be allowed at the discretion of the Director of Houses, in collaboration with the family
- Students should be clean-shaven at all times All special considerations for facial hair should be written to the Director of Houses
Jewellery
- Students may wear one pair of stud earrings only
- Facial piercings are prohibited
- Students should not wear bracelets, necklaces or rings to school.
- If a piece of jewellery is worn because of cultural and/or social customs, it would fall under protected characteristics and be allowed at the discretion of the Director of Houses, in collaboration with the family
Nails
- Nails should be of a neutral or muted colour only and be kept to a sensibly short length.
- Nail extensions and nail jewellery are not acceptable
Make-up
- Make-up may be worn but should not draw attention. A natural tone foundation and mascara are permitted
Games & Activities Kit
- School sports shirt and shorts.
- Sports trainers with white socks.

Sixth Form Dress Code
Sixth Form students are privileged to wear business dress to school
Business Dress
- Dark suits (dark blue or black) for students (jackets/blazers only required on formal occasions)
- A trouser or below-knee length skirt for students
- Blouses/shirts are to be plain white or pale blue only*.
- Blouses/shirts should always have a collar and sleeves and be tucked in.
- A Sixth Form tie or scarf should be worn at all times
- When wearing a shirt a tie must be worn and the top button be done up
- When wearing a blouse a school scarf must be worn and only one button must be undone.
*Senior Student Leaders are allowed to wear blouses/shirts of a different block colour These must be smart at all times.
Skirts and Trousers
- Skirts must be below knee length and formal/business style
- Trousers should be ankle-length, formal, business trousers (not jeans, leggings or too tight or casual) They must be worn in a manner appropriate for the school environment
