BRINGING AN UPLIFTMENT IN THE LIFE OF BRICK KILN SEASONAL MIGRANT WORKERS

Brick kiln Site

Site Site Area

: Sanand, Ahmedabad : 3700 Sq.Mtrs

According to the UNESCO reports there are more than 30 million of internal seasonal migrants out of which 15% of them are children. These are workers which migrate from places such as Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, working in brick kilns for 9 months of a year. There are around 1 lakh of seasonal brick kiln migrant workers in Ahmedabad.

Considering all climatic factors and the existing walls and fenestrations in the building, a pattern is created which is differentiated by changing the percentage

Patterns are created on terracotta panels to define the floating cuboid mass on the first floor by changing percentage of perforations on panels. Panels with

@ TRUE SCALE DESIGN

An Interior Design project for a common activity room and a conference room of a residential society. Metal Plate running on the edges with its movements defining the function of ths spaces was deliberately used as a design element of the interior spaces. On the outside facing glaass, a graphhical illustration was designed in order to give a meaning of the activities going to happen in the interior spaces. The Interiors have a very light theme with white and grey color furniture, lighting and paint on the wall.
