My bag from the tree - a unique piece of nature

And this is how cork is made:
When harvested, the bark of a cork tree is carefully peeled off the tree. The positive thing is – this process does not hurt anyone, not even the tree. On the contrary – peeling the cork even stimulates further growth of the tree. The tree can then bind new carbon dioxide by growing a new layer of cork, which is then aired, steamed and cooked. This process reduces pollutants and results in higher elasticity and lower density. To produce the cork textile, either whole pieces are cut from the bark and glued together, or the raw material is simply compacted and applied to the fabric. The special thing here is that the different grains mean no product looks like the next one and is therefore absolutely unique.
