Make your own electrolyte drink - simple and the perfect thirst quencher

When the summer comes and temperatures start to rise, any refreshment will come be welcome. In general, you should never neglect the topic of fluids and drinks, because it is precisely when you are constantly moving that your body loses a lot of water. However, important electrolytes such as sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium are also lost during intensive exercise.

With a self-mixed electrolyte drink you can replenish your mineral reserves and at the same time consume a revitalising refreshment during the bike ride. Try it for yourself and simply follow the following basic recipe:

Ingredients

· 1 litre of still, cold drinking water · 1 level teaspoon of cooking salt · 2 tablespoons of grape sugar (caster sugar, cane sugar or honey can be used instead)

Preparation

Mix all the ingredients together until the sugar and salt have completely dissolved in the water. Tip: For a better taste experience, you can mix up to half of the drink with other fluids that should be as rich in vitamins and minerals as possible. Ideal choices here include orange juice, apple juice, herb and fruit tea, or simple a few drops of freshly squeezed lemon.
