We had to construct a technically accurate scaled down section of a 2-storey residence. The point was to understand wood framing: structural elements, wall section components, construction connections and the concept of an "air-tight" envelope. The section I was supposed to show was: a CMU foundation with a brick and stud above-grade wall assembly, with a floor assembly finished with plywood subloor and wood veneer finish. Care was taken to construct the model with properly sealed air vapour barriers (wrapping around headers and overlapping where appropriate). - Winter 2019
