Join HCB member Ian Wolfe MIT ’10, ALM ‘20 for a discussion about national security issues on a granular level. Mr. Wolfe currently works as a strategist for the MITRE Corporation across a wide federal portfolio including continued work in national security. From 2012 until 2020, Ian served in the US Army as a member of a Special Forces “A-Team.” After enlisting in 2012, he was an honor graduate of his Infantry class, completed Airborne School, and was selected for Special Forces training. As a communications specialist Ian deployed with his team to Syria, where he leveraged a conversational proficiency in Arabic to work with local militias to combat the Islamic State. He finished his service as a Green Beret as a special warfare planner, providing surge planning capability to crisis situations across the Middle East.

Sketch Landscapes

Artist Eli Portman returns to HCB for another interactive drawing class. On this day, we will enjoy a glass of Prosecco and then we will practice drawing landscapes. We’ll be discussing proportions, shading and more! All skill levels are welcome, from basic beginners to advanced artists. Grow your artistic technique with guidance offered by Portman, a professional artist, muralist and illustrator.

We will provide materials (paper, sketch pencils, etc), but we encourage you to bring your own supplies which are as follows:

11x14 or larger sketch pad or paper

Sketching pencils (click here for an example)

Eraser (white plastic ones are recommended)

Pencil Sharpener
