Every summer, Newport, Rhode Island hosts several world-famous music festivals, including the Newport Jazz Festival. This summer, the Newport Jazz Festival returns with an incredible lineup of performers.

The Newport Jazz Festival brings thousands of excited visitors to this charming community. Established by Jazz musician George Wein and socialite Elaine Lorillard in 1954, this long-running tradition has grown into a world-famous festival. Some of the big names that will be performing across the festival’s three days include jazz legend Herbie Hancock; talented musician Jon Batiste; Grateful Dead tribute band Joe Russo’s Almost Dead; genre-skipping, Grammy-award winner Thundercat; Canadian jazz pianist Diana Krall; and Anderson. Paak will be performing under his alternate ego of DJ Pee Wee.

This year’s Newport Jazz Festival will be August 4th–6th at Fort Adams State Park. The park has a historic 19th-century fort, a sandy beach, and offers sweeping views of the harbor, creating a unique atmosphere for this defining summer celebration.

The event creates a unique, exciting atmosphere and has plenty for visitors to explore. There will be food and crafts, as well as merchandise concessions where guests can purchase official festival merch. And attendees can enjoy cold beverages to cool off from the warm August sun at the beer and wine garden.

While jazz has greatly evolved through the last seven decades, year after year, the Newport Jazz Festival curates an acclaimed roster of innovative, worldrenowned jazz and rock musicians. And this year’s lineup is no different, featuring an eclectic mix of headlining talent.

Tickets can be purchased online, with a single-day general admission ticket priced at $100 with fees. Multi-day admission tickets are also available, although the festival does tend to sell out, so moving quickly is important.
