The tournament’s celebrity roots run deep, having been founded by Bing Crosby in 1937 as the first national Pro-Amateur golf tournament. It moved to its current location in 1947 and has since attracted a loyal fan base with its mix of elite golf and star power. Over the years, celebrity participants have included Bill Murray, Justin Timberlake, Carson Daly, Ray Romano, and many others.

The tournament features a field of 80 professional golfers and 80 celebrity amateurs, paired in teams of two. During the first two days,

teams compete in a better-ball format, using the best shot from each pairing. On the final two days, the focus shifts to the professionals in a traditional stroke-play format to determine the winner.

Last year’s prize pool was an impressive $20 million, with winner Wyndham Clark taking home a $3.6 million share.
