Formula One Miami Grand Prix Returns For Revamped Second Year

While NASCAR has traditionally been the dominant motorsport across America, the global appeal of Formula One, or F1, has reached mainstream popularity across the U.S. F1 has long been the world’s leading motorsport class of international racing, with a touring circuit that hosts races in locales across the globe from Monaco and Abu Dhabi to Melbourne and Barcelona.

The first Miami Grand Prix, a F1 event, was held in 2022. This spring, it will return for a new and improved second year to provide sports fans and racing enthusiasts with an unmatched live experience.

MAY 5-7, 2023

The Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix will take place from May 5th–7th this year. The race will be at the Miami International Autodrome, a temporary circuit built around the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, where the Miami Dolphins play. The track was designed specifically for the Miami Grand Prix, and the grandstands surrounding it have room for tens of thousands of viewers.

F1 races play out over three days. The first day is a practice run, where the drivers race around the track and get accustomed to the turns, test their vehicles’ current performance levels, and make necessary preparations for the next two events. The next day is qualifying, when the racers each aim to complete a lap of the circuit in the fastest time, which determines their order on race day. Finally, the event’s last day is the actual race, when more than 20 drivers from ten teams face off in a race to complete 57 laps of the circuit.

Last year’s race was a smashing success with a sold-out crowd. More than 240,000 visitors attended Miami Grand Prix events, and the race brought a $350 million boost to the local economy. On the track, Max Verstappen took home a victory en route to his second World Driver’s Championship. He has looked just as dominant in the new F1 season and will hope to claim his second Miami Grand Prix victory. He will have a host of challengers, including legend Lewis Hamilton, teammate Sergio Perez, and the first American to race in F1 since 2015, Logan Sargeant.

Due to the remarkable success of last year’s race, this year’s will be even bigger. The grandstand area has been expanded to add 3,000 more guests. 61 new luxury suites and two luxury club spaces have also been added.

The F1 Grand Prix isn’t just about racing. It is a huge event that also has many associated celebrations. Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium will be divided into eight different zones, which will contain viewing areas, party spaces, a beach club, hospitality suites, and much more. Delicious dining options on dry-docked yacht decks and luxurious seating along high-speed corners make this a classic Miami experience.

Tickets are available online now, with ticket prices varying according to the seating area and event day. A three-day campus pass, which gives visitors access to the stadium grounds and grandstand seating, costs $590 per ticket.

The 2023 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix is the second iteration in what appears likely to become a mainstay of the Formula One circuit. After the incredible success of last year, the 2023 event has doubled down with more seating, a bigger campus, and expanded events. It will be a can’t-miss event with all the glitz and glamor of Miami combined with F1’s one-of-a-kind fan experience.
