The Havre Public Schools Education Foundation is in the final stages of sponsoring a specialty license plate . The HPSEF raises funds and actively provides financial support for the students and faculty of Havre Public Schools. The license plate sponsorship allows the HPSEF the ability to increase its financial support of educational needs in the district through scholarships and small grants. A $20 purchase and annual renewal fee at the time of registration will help the HPSEF achieve these goals. The plate which depicts Saddle Butte and the HHS logo, will be available for purchase the last week in January 2017.

We are nearing the midpoint of the 2016-2017 school year and there seems to be no shortage of activity. There are lights on across the district as concerts, athletic events, trade fairs and a host of other activities are happening each evening. The cold weather has not seemed to dampen the energy of the events that I have had the good fortune to attend. Each year I marvel at the amazing talent and great work that our staff does with our students. Winter seems to bring out some of the best performances of the year.

Winter also marks the second session of our Community Education program. Our Community Education program coordinator Tiffany Olsen, works hard to put together many quality and diverse course offerings. We hope that you will find something that piques your interest and encourages you to try a new skill or perhaps take a refresher course on a hobby that you have not had time for in recent years. Either way, we would welcome you to sign up this winter and take part in one or several course offerings.

As we approach the end of the calendar year, I like to spend time reflecting on the past year. There is so much that I have to be thankful for each and every day. It is a privilege to work in a school district that has such great community support. It really is a partnership between community and school district that creates great opportunity for students. Thank you so much and Go Blue Ponies!

Havre Public Schools’ Community Education is proud to offer many exciting classes for the 2017 Winter Session. Registration begins January 17th. Register on-line, by email or in person. Payment is due at time of registration. Students will be dropped from classes if payment is not received within one week of registering for classes. Payments may be mailed or dropped off, in person, at the Community Education office in the Robins Administration Building. Early registration and payment will ensure the class is offered. Many of the classes have maximum occupancy numbers so hurry and register for your favorites! Students MUST be at least 18 years of age to participate in classes.

Refunds will be made only if you notify the Community Education office seven days prior to class starting or 10 days prior for classes where the instructor or Community Ed. purchases supplies. If class is cancelled due to lack of enrollment, you will be notified and refunded any payment you have made.

Returned checks will be recovered by Credit Bureau of Havre. A $30.00 fee will be added to all returned checks.

Community Education is always looking for instructors and classes of interest to the adult, lifelong learner. If you are interested in teaching, know someone who would be interested in teaching, or would like to suggest a class please contact Tiffany Olsen at the Community Education office at 395-8550 ext. 6716.

Havre Public School's Classified employee of the Year

2016

Havre Public Schools’ 2016 Classified Employee of the Year is Tobey Schlofeldt. Tobey represents the non-teaching employees of the district involving clerical, maintenance, custodial, technology, school food service, para professional, nurse, and transportation workers. Tobey’s employment area is as a paraprofessional at Highland Park.

Classified Employee of the Year 2015, Melony Steckel, proudly announced Mrs. Schlofeldt as the 2016 Classified Employee of the Year at Havre Public Schools’ Pride Celebration in April. Additional nominees considered for the 2016 award were Christine Huston (Clerical at Sunnyside), Darla Welch (Paraprofessional at Sunnysidel) and Mardele Toth (Paraprofessional at Havre High School).

Melony introduced Tobey with these kind words: “She was nominated for her hard work, reliability, and caring nature. She is able to tackle any tasks that come her way throughout the day; all while keeping her sense of humor and witty personality. Her co-workers are confident that when she is there, the children, parents and staff will be well taken care of. “

Tobey, AKA, Miss Tobey, has been a para for the district for 12 years. Upon graduation from Havre High School, she opened a day care because of her love of children. As her own children got older, they wanted their home to be all their own again so Tobey went to work as a para. While not working, Tobey enjoys spending time with her children: Tyson, age 23, Cole a senior at Havre High and Jaycee a freshman at Havre High. She also enjoys attending Blue Pony sporting events and playing games with family and friends.

As she progresses through her day, you may find Tobey assisting students with projects or tasks in the classroom or you may find her in the office answering phones or placing band aids in exactly the correct spot. She states, “My job is rewarding, fun, and at times challenging. There is not one day that is exactly like the other.” She enjoys the challenge of finding a way to enhance each child’s education, since not every child learns the same way. When asked what her favorite memory is: “There are too many memories to pick from. I really enjoy all the kids and seeing them as they grow up. I love it when a student I had at Highland Park who is in High School now remembers me as Miss Tobey."

The best part of each day is finding a way to improve each child’s day while the most difficult part of her job is, “not taking all these adorable kids home with me.” One of those adorable children had this to say about Miss Tobey, “When I ran into the post, Miss Tobey asked if I was okay. That’s what she does. She makes sure everybody is okay.”

2016

Havre Public Schools’ 2016 Classified Employee of the Year is Tobey Schlofeldt. Tobey represents the non-teaching employees of the district involving clerical, maintenance, custodial, technology, school food service, para professional, nurse, and transportation workers. Tobey’s employment area is as a paraprofessional at Highland Park.

Classified Employee of the Year 2015, Melony Steckel, proudly announced Mrs. Schlofeldt as the 2016 Classified Employee of the Year at Havre Public Schools’ Pride Celebration in April. Additional nominees considered for the 2016 award were Christine Huston (Clerical at Sunnyside), Darla Welch (Paraprofessional at Sunnysidel) and Mardele Toth (Paraprofessional at Havre High School).

Melony introduced Tobey with these kind words: “She was nominated for her hard work, reliability, and caring nature. She is able to tackle any tasks that come her way throughout the day; all while keeping her sense of humor and witty personality. Her co-workers are confident that when she is there, the children, parents and staff will be well taken care of. “

Tobey, AKA, Miss Tobey, has been a para for the district for 12 years. Upon graduation from Havre High School, she opened a day care because of her love of children. As her own children got older, they wanted their home to be all their own again so Tobey went to work as a para. While not working, Tobey enjoys spending time with her children: Tyson, age 23, Cole a senior at Havre High and Jaycee a freshman at Havre High. She also enjoys attending Blue Pony sporting events and playing games with family and friends.

As she progresses through her day, you may find Tobey assisting students with projects or tasks in the classroom or you may find her in the office answering phones or placing band aids in exactly the correct spot. She states, “My job is rewarding, fun, and at times challenging. There is not one day that is exactly like the other.” She enjoys the challenge of finding a way to enhance each child’s education, since not every child learns the same way. When asked what her favorite memory is: “There are too many memories to pick from. I really enjoy all the kids and seeing them as they grow up. I love it when a student I had at Highland Park who is in High School now remembers me as Miss Tobey."

The best part of each day is finding a way to improve each child’s day while the most difficult part of her job is, “not taking all these adorable kids home with me.” One of those adorable children had this to say about Miss Tobey, “When I ran into the post, Miss Tobey asked if I was okay. That’s what she does. She makes sure everybody is okay.”

We are nearing the midpoint of the 2016-2017 school year and there seems to be no shortage of activity. There are lights on across the district as concerts, athletic events, trade fairs and a host of other activities are happening each evening. The cold weather has not seemed to dampen the energy of the events that I have had the good fortune to attend. Each year I marvel at the amazing talent and great work that our staff does with our students. Winter seems to bring out some of the best performances of the year.

Winter also marks the second session of our Community Education program. Our Community Education program coordinator Tiffany Olsen, works hard to put together many quality and diverse course offerings. We hope that you will find something that piques your interest and encourages you to try a new skill or perhaps take a refresher course on a hobby that you have not had time for in recent years. Either way, we would welcome you to sign up this winter and take part in one or several course offerings.

As we approach the end of the calendar year, I like to spend time reflecting on the past year. There is so much that I have to be thankful for each and every day. It is a privilege to work in a school district that has such great community support. It really is a partnership between community and school district that creates great opportunity for students. Thank you so much and Go Blue Ponies!

Havre Public Schools’ Community Education is proud to offer many exciting classes for the 2017 Winter Session. Registration begins January 17th. Register on-line, by email or in person. Payment is due at time of registration. Students will be dropped from classes if payment is not received within one week of registering for classes. Payments may be mailed or dropped off, in person, at the Community Education office in the Robins Administration Building. Early registration and payment will ensure the class is offered. Many of the classes have maximum occupancy numbers so hurry and register for your favorites! Students MUST be at least 18 years of age to participate in classes.

Refunds will be made only if you notify the Community Education office seven days prior to class starting or 10 days prior for classes where the instructor or Community Ed. purchases supplies. If class is cancelled due to lack of enrollment, you will be notified and refunded any payment you have made.

Returned checks will be recovered by Credit Bureau of Havre. A $30.00 fee will be added to all returned checks.

Community Education is always looking for instructors and classes of interest to the adult, lifelong learner. The Havre Public Schools Education Foundation is in the final stages of sponsoring a specialty license plate . The HPSEF raises funds and actively provides financial support for the students and faculty of Havre Public Schools. The license plate sponsorship allows the HPSEF the ability to increase its financial support of educational needs in the district through scholarships and small grants. A $20 purchase and annual renewal fee at the time of registration will help the HPSEF achieve these goals.
