Havre Public School's 2018 Classified Employee of the year Congratulations, Patty Huestis, Havre Public Schools’ 2018 Classified Employee of the Year. Patty represents the non-teaching employees of the district including clerical, maintenance, custodial, technology, school food s ervice, paraprofessional, nurse, and transportation workers. Additional outstanding nominees considered for this honor were: *Representing Clerical -Lynn Bailey located at Robins Administration *Representing Transportation -Al Sorenson -Mike Badgley *Representing Custodial/Maintenance/Technology -Wade Harrison located at the High School -Aaron Hanson located at Robins Administration *Representing Paraprofessionals - Linda Wallace located at Highland Park - Michele Stevens located at Sunnyside Intermediate - Pam Sunchild located at the High School Patty’s employment area is as a school food service helper and has been with the district for 8-years. Her nomination letter states, “We can always count on Patty to get her duties done and fill in for someone else at the same time. Patty is a joy to work with and we are proud to have her.” Patty is a conscientious and dependable employee. Patty is currently a food service helper at both Highland Park and at the High School. She begins her day at the high school in the morning, then serves lunch at Highland Park, and then returns to the High School to do dishes. While she loves all aspects of her job, her favorite parts are working with her coworkers and seeing the young kids at Highland Park, who add so much joy to her day. Lori Herron immensely enjoys working alongside Patty every day serving lunch. “Patty is always helpful. You never need to ask her to do something. She just jumps in and does what needs to be done.” Patty interacts well with coworkers and students alike, has a smile for everyone and a pleasant attitude. Patty grew up on a ranch with her sister and two brothers. As winter approaches, she does not miss calving but does miss the freedom of being able to ride whenever she pleased along with haying and feeding the cows. As a student herself, Patty attended Bear Paw School from kindergarten through 8th grade and then attended Havre High School. She attended college online and received a degree in environmental science through the Stradford Career Institute. While on her way to utilizing that degree, she met her husband and stayed in Havre. She gives her grandmother credit for letting her know that a position with the district was open and she likes her job because it works well with her family’s schedule. She and her husband of 14 years, Dusty, have two children Hailey a 7th grader and David a 6th grader. When Patty is not at work, she enjoys taking walks, crocheting, camping and reading western romance novels. Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for Havre Public Schools.

Congratulations Patty Huestis, 2018 Classified Employee of the year.

Superintendent's Message...

Superintendent's Message…

It is me for the winter community educaon session registraon to begin. I hope you are able to find something in this year’s offerings that piques your interest. If you have never signed up for a community educaon class, I strongly encourage you to take advantage of this great community program. Tiffany spends a great deal of me searching out instructors and organizing a wide variety of classes that appeal to a wide spectrum of individuals. If you are a frequent parcipant in our community educaon program, invite a friend to join you this winter. We love having folks in our buildings and taking part in a program like community educaon that we are so proud to offer as a school district. The winter season in the Havre School District seems to be a me to shine for our students. There is something special about entering the Havre High Theater and listening to some of the outstanding performances each year. It is always such a pleasure to watch and listen to the Hi-Liters as they make their rounds to each elementary building. Each year seems to bring something new in a most familiar occurrence. Sing in on an elementary school performance can sure take the chill off of any frosty morning and I have even seen a few Grinch hearts melt. Our winter sports seasons are in full gear and the first semester of the 2018-19 school year is coming to a conclusion. There are so many memories already made and many excing ones sll on the horizon. The Seniors begin to look toward May and walking across the stage and many of our students begin to wonder as to what the next grade will be like as they think of transioning from their current building to the next one. A strong word of encouragement from an adult can leave a very lasng impression on these students. Take me to visit with your child or a child that you care about. Encourage them in their daily walk and remind them to make the most of these opportunies that they are currently experiencing. I truly want to thank the Havre community, our students, and the staff of Havre Public Schools for making this district such a great place to work. I look forward to coming to work every day. I hope your Holiday season was filled with great joy. Be well and Go Blue Ponies!

Havre Public Schools’ Community Educaon is proud to offer many excing classes for the 2018/2019 Winter Session. Registraon begins November 26th. Register on-line, by email or in person. Many of the classes have maximum occupancy numbers so hurry and register for your favorites! Students MUST be at least 18 years of age to parcipate in classes. Refunds will be made only if you nofy the Community Educaon office seven days prior to class starng or 10 days prior for classes where the instructor or Community Educaon purchases supplies. Patty Huestis
