Old Library Gallery featured preservation commission ornament
Havre Daily News/File photo The Havre-Hill County Historic Preservation Commission has its latest Christmas ornament for sale starting during Festival Days weekend. The commission issues limited edition pewter ornaments showing historic buildings in the area which it sells to help fund its preservation efforts. The ornament this year depicts Havre’s Old Library Gallery. The ornaments go on sale this week for $20 each at the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce at 130 Fifth Ave. and at the Old Library Gallery at 439 Fourth Ave.

Welcome to Havre for the 39th celebration of Havre Festival Days It’s that wonderful time of year again; with the end of summer comes Havre Festival Days. The Chamber has been busy since early spring planning this year’s Festival Days weekend of events that will take place September 20-22. The theme this year is a very fitting one for Havre, “Small Town USA.” The phrase “small town USA” pops up in everything from song lyrics to political speeches. Most often, it’s used to evoke the image of a close-knit community, a place where everyone knows everyone, a town teeming with those who rely on each other like loved ones. This year we want everyone to reflect on the wonderful town that we get to enjoy each and every day. We want to invite the town of Havre to come out and celebrate the pride we have living in this beautiful community. What better way to celebrate Havre

Festival Days set with softball, Blue Pony football and Northern rodeo

Havre Festival Days is a time for celebration. It’s a time to honor our great community. But, it’s also a time for sports. In fact, each and every year, the annual Festival Days celebration is chock-full of exciting sporting events and 2019 will be no different. One of the most popular sporting events on the calendar each year is the annual 48-Hours of Softball, and it will run from Friday at 6 p.m. to Sunday afternoon’s championship game — literally. That’s right, the 48-hour softball tournament does not stop until the championship game is over, and that’s what makes it unique, and popular. The tournament is a big draw for co-ed softball players, not only from Havre, but all over Montana, and even Canada. Each year, including this year, the tournament will feature a full 16-team bracket of co-ed teams, and the action will run continuously until Sunday’s championship game. All of the fun will take place at the Sixth Avenue Memorial Field. Of course the softball tournament is just one of many exciting sporting events on the Festival Days slate. Each year, at least one local football game coincides with Festival Days, and this year, it’s the Havre Blue Ponies’ turn. On Friday night, the Blue Ponies will host Eastern A rival Laurel with a kickoff set for 7 p.m. inside Blue Pony Stadium. And, if rodeo is your thing, then this Festival Days celebration has that, too. The Montana State University-Northern Rodeo Team will once again be hosting a double rodeo including its MSU-Northern Big Sky Region Rodeo Friday through Sunday at the Great Northern Fairgrounds, with performances at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 9 s.m.

Havre Shiner’s Beef Raffle tickets will be available at Brandon’s Drapery & Floor Covering through Thursday. Tickets also will
be for sale Friday at Gary & Leo’s Fresh Fo o d s, a n d o n s a l e a t H a m m e r ’ n Hank’Tweeten’s Auto Body and from local Shriners. Raffle tickets are $5 each, four for $20. The beef is donated by a local producer and will be wrapped and ready for the winners to take home to the freezer. First-place winner gets half of a beef, with
second-place getting the hind quarter and third-place the front quarter. There will also be fourth- and fifth-place prizes this year. Fourth place is a Big Green Egg Mini Max Barbecue set and the fifth place prize is a $250 gift card to Gary & Leo’s. The winner will be drawn at Saturday’s Rock Lotto, which runs from 3 to 8 p.m. at Town Square.
Shriners Hospitals provide free treatment to children with a variety of illnesses and injuries as well as free transportation for the child and their families. The hospitals are located around the country, but most local people take advantage of the Spokane, Washington, hospital. Dave Martens, event organizer and manager of KNMC 90.1 FM, added that a duo from Fort Benton, Lucky Valentine and the Third Wheel, will also be participating this year. The bands were given six weeks to learn their songs and perform a 20-minute set in Town Square. The songs are from 1959, 1969, 1979, 1989 and 1999, with each band playing one song from each decade, he said. He added that people get to step out of their comfort zone a little bit and play music they might have never played otherwise. He added that the bands, if each member agrees, can change the song they drew

Rachel Jamieson rjamieson@havredailynews.com This year’s Festival Days parade will include the Furry Friends Paw Parade again which will run in conjunction with the regular — and popular — parade Saturday, but entries need to be in before parade day. “The Havre Dog Park Club is excited to launch the Paw Parade this year,” club President Chad Stewart said. He added that people and their dogs participating need to assemble at the Havre Dog Park Club float in the Havre High School parking lot by 9 a.m., and the Paw Parade contest judging will be done there at 9:15 a.m. Categories for the contest are Most Unique/Cutest Pet, Best Pet Costume and Best Kid’s Entry. Stewart said the club suggests that people refrain from feeding their pets on the morning of the parade until after the event. Also, he added, people should potty their pets before they arrive at Havre High School parking lot and that people carry potty bags, as they are responsible for any “deposits” left by their pets. People can lead their pets on a leash, but if the pet is a toy breed or small pet, or if it is an older pet the club suggests people carry them or pull them in a wagon or on a float. People can dress them in a

if it better suits the band as long as it’s within the decade they drew. The main goal of Rock Lotto is to get people to play. “Who cares, as long as they’re up there having fun,” he said. The event has seen some people come back to participate in the lotto every year, Martens said, and the event has also been growing. Martens said that this year they will also be doing something special to go with the theme “Small Town USA,” by having multiple musicians at the Rock Lotto sing and play “The Havre Song,” which Mavis Wastweet Farnham, who died last month, used to perform with her group The Timely
Trio. Martens said that he also would have had Farnham perform the song in April during the tribute band festival hosted by the radio station, but she was unable to attend. He added this will be a way to honor Farnham while also celebrating the small-town spirit of the event. Every program at the event will have the lyrics of “The Havre Song” printed on the back, he said. “So if anyone wants to sing along, they are highly encouraged to do so,” he said. Wild Rose Harmonizers, a now-defunct barber shop group Farnham use to be a part of, will also get back together to kick
off Rock Lotto this year, Martens said. This year, food will be provided by Parker’s Barbecue and the Havre Lions Club members, who will be cooking their fair food for the event, he said. He added that Vic’s Club will provide a cash bar. He said that the event will also have a giveaway. Information and sign-up for the 4-H Club’s November fundraiser concert Rusted and Busted will be available. He added that the North Central Shriner Club will also be announcing the winners of this year’s beef raffle fundraiser. Rock Lotto is free and all ages are welcome, Martens said.
A long-time Havre businessman and community supporter is being honored in this year’s Festival Days Parade. The Havre Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors chose Scott Young in memoriam as the grand marshal for the parade. His wife, Kaye, and some family will take his place riding in the parade. Young owned and operated Norman’s Ranch and Sportswear with Kaye, taking it over from her parents, for decades, and was well-known as a major supporter of community events. He died unexpectedly at age 69 July 20. The parade — a highlight of Festival Days — is Saturday starting at 10 a.m. and is continuing its decades-old tradition of celebration. “We want to see floats that reflect on what makes our small town so great,” a post about the event on EventBrite said. The parade is a major attraction of Festival Days, with people lining Fifth Avenue to watch the procession of entries. Registration to be in the parade can be found online at https://www.havrechamber.com/events/festival-days by clicking on the link “2019 Parade Registration” that will take them to the EventBrite entry with registration. Rules and regulations will be emailed to the person making the entry upon signing up. Fifth Avenue run brought back by CASA Derek Hann dshann@havredailynews.com Court Appointed Special Advocates of Hill County — CASA — will be hosting for the first time the Fifth Avenue Mile Saturday during Festival Days to raise awareness of the non-profit group. The run is a revival or revision of the MADD Mile Dash that ran down Fifth Avenue during Festival Days in the 1980s. This year’s run will start at Spud’s Grub Hut and end a mile down Fifth Avenue in front of the Havre Fire Department. People can either compete or walk for awareness of CASA. The event will also have a number of prizes and awards for participants and for those who compete. Prizes include hooded sweatshirts and baseball caps donated by Havre Ford and a Versatile tractor donated by Big Equipment. Awards will be available to first-place men, and first-place women and include medals for different groups of youth partici-
pants. Food and water will also be available at the event as well as every participant receiving water bottles, donated by Spud’s Grub Hut, and CASA-labeled lip balm. Applications are open to everyone and are available at Spud’s Grub Hut and at the CASA office located at the District 4 Human Resources and Development Council Building. Applications can be turned in at the CASA office. People can also register at the race and will start at 9 and closes at 9:40 a.m. the morning of the event. It is $15 for adults and $10 for youths — 17 years old and younger — to register. The Fifth Avenue Mile will start at 9:50 a.m., 10 minutes before the parade. Everyone who registers will receive a T-shirt, but unless the person has preregistered for the race, they will receive the T-shirt after Festival Days. CASA is a non-profit group which works within the court system advocating for the needs of children who have been removed

Member Matt Sasaki said the 2018 event lasted until about 2:30 a.m. Non-club members and new shooters are welcome to take part in the competition Sasaki said. The competition usually draws about 50 local area and visiting trap shooters, including some who regularly come from Great Falls, Augusta and North Dakota. The run is a fundraiser for the Havre High School boys cross country team. Today is the last day to pre-register to receive a T-shirt on race day. Drop the reg-

Entry fee is $25 a person, including a long-leeve shirt, and $10 for no shirt, and for children 8 and under the run is free when accompanied by a registered adult. Door prizes and refreshments will be available after the run. History Among the Headstones Tragedy and Tears — History Among the Headstones will be Sunday at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the Highland and Calvary Cemeteries. “The tour will consist of notable cases of tragedy and is not suitable or recommended for young children or those sensitive to human tragedy,” said local historian Emily Mayer, who is giving the tours. The cost is $10 per person and tours will be weather-permitting. If the weather is uncooperative, the tours will be rescheduled at a later date. Mayer said she will meet people interested int the tours near the cemetery office area where parking is available. She added that people will need to walk on uneven ground throughout the cemetery site. “All of these cases are old, the latest being, I believe, the 1950s, so no recent tragedies will be discussed out of respect for the families,” she said.
Rock Lotto returns to Festival Days Derek Hann dshann@havredailynews.com Montana State University-Northern radio station KNMC will be hosting its Fourth Annual Rock Lotto, mixing together singers and musicians from around the area to play together from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday in Town Square. Musicians’ and singers’ names were put into a bag in addition to the songs that they would be playing, and the musicians names were drawn to create separate bands as well as the music their bands
would be playing. The seven bands will each have members such as guitarist, bassist, drummer, keyboardist, horn player, lead singer and backup vocalist. Participants who can play multiple instruments were encouraged to list a backup instrument, in case too many people signed up to play a particular instrument. This year, 38 people registered and were randomly split into seven bands, including Boberfet, Mama Cass and the Ham Sandwiches, and Kaycee and the Four

Hangar member Tony Dolphay said the movie is free and the concessions, including popcorn, hotdogs and refreshments, are inexpensive so everyone can have the full movie and treat experience. The movie will start at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, and signs at the airport will lead the way to the correct hangar. Rock Lotto and Shriner beef raffle KNMC’s Rock Lotto, during which the North Central Shrine Club will hold its annual beef raffle drawing, will run from 3 to 8 p.m. in Town Square. Book sale again running Festival Days week The annual Havre-Hill County Library Festival Days Used Book Sale will give people the chance to pick up some reading material at a very low cost. Continuing with the extended days from last year, the Friends of the Havre-Hill County Library this year are holding their annual book sale from Wednesday through Sunday. The doors will be open from noon to 8 p.m. Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and noon to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The book sale is one of the largest fundraisers held by Friends. Donated books and books retired from the library shelves are sold, with volunteers regularly bringing out more selections through the sale. Except for some special $1 books and others that are cheaper, books sell for $1 for as many books as will fit in a grocery bag. Some items, which will be displayed at the library, will also be selling in a silent auction at the sale. The money raised helps fund a variety of events at the library, including helping pay for the license for its movie program, for the summer and winter reading programs, and prizes for children programs. Anka’s Treasures Trunk Show and demonstrations for quilters Area quilters will have the opportunity to view quilts made from Anka’s Treasures designs and see demonstrations of the quilting processes during the Anka’s Treasures Trunk Show Thursday through Saturday at Bearly Square Quilting, 109 1st. Local bakery shops usually drop off some goodies, such as Grateful Bread rolls, Infinity Bakery donuts, and businesses have signups and put a thanks on their signs, while businesses have been known to drop off food for the morning parade crew and a few at shift change in the evening during Festival Days. People should take the opportunity Saturday to thank the law enforcement officers whose job it is to serve and protect. Eagles Auxiliary holding burger feed The Havre Eagles Auxiliary of Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge 166 is continuing a new Festival Days event it started in 2018. The auxiliary will hold a burger feed Friday outside of the Eagles Club from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. For $6 people can get a cheeseburger, salad, baked beans, chips and condiments, proceeds will be going to the Eagles Auxiliary charities. A pool tournament will also start at 7 p.m. followed by a live musical performance by the Milk River Band. Steeet Dance Kirt Miller and his Sax Cadillac band will be performing for a free street dance starting at 6 p.m. Friday on the 100 Block of Second Avenue, in front of Old Station Brewing Co. Steve Heil Memorial Car Show The Steve Heil Memorial Car Show is revved up during Festival Days for car enthusiasts again this year. All car makes, models and years are welcome. Car buffs are invited to Third Street between Second Avenue and Fifth Avenue Friday 6 to 9 p.m. to display and view classic and restored vehicles of all kinds. Havre Festival Days limited edition commemorative buttons and mugs available now Only 1,000 numbered buttons are available Commemorative mugs and buttons are available for the 39th celebration of Havre Festival Days. The mugs and buttons will feature this year’s logo. The Havre Area Chamber of Commerce will be drawing a series of six random numbers each day, Monday, Sept. 16, through Friday, Sept. 20. Those holding a button with a winning number will win a
Chamber Gift Certificate in varying denominations or a Festival Days commemorative mug. To claim a prize, just stop by the Chamber with the winning button. Winning numbers will be posted both on the Chamber Facebook page and in the Havre Daily News the week of Festival Days. Two other numbers will be drawn to win an Echo Spot from Triangle Mobile and two round-trip tickets to Billings on Cape Air. These two winning button numbers will be drawn Friday.

Other shooting game formats, including Annie Oakley and buddy shoots, will test shooters’ skills for well into the night. Member Matt Sasaki said the 2018 event lasted until about 2:30 a.m. Non-club members and new shooters are welcome to take part in the competition Sasaki said. The competition usually draws about 50 local area and visiting trap shooters, including some who regularly come from Great Falls, Augusta and North Dakota. Many visitors will bring their campers to the club. The Saturday shoot starts at 8 p.m. at Havre Trap Club, east off the south end of Fifth Avenue. The race begins at 1 p.m. at the RC Model Flying Club, east off the south end of Fifth Avenue. The run/walk is on the dike south of town. The run is a fundraiser for the Havre High School boys cross country team. Today is the last day to pre-register to receive a T-shirt on race day. Drop the reg-
istration off at the Havre area Chamber of Commerce, 130 Fifth Ave. People with questions can call Debbie at 265-1241. Entry fee is $25 a person, including a long-leeve shirt, and $10 for no shirt, and for children 8 and under the run is free when accompanied by a registered adult. Door prizes and refreshments will be available after the run. History Among the Headstones Tragedy and Tears — History Among the Headstones will be Sunday at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the Highland and Calvary Cemeteries. “The tour will consist of notable cases of tragedy and is not suitable or recommended for young children or those sensitive to human tragedy,” said local historian Emily Mayer, who is giving the tours. The cost is $10 per person and tours will be weather-permitting. If the weather is uncooperative, the tours will be rescheduled at a later date. Mayer said she will meet people interested int the tours near the cemetery office area where parking is available. She added that people will need to walk on uneven ground throughout the cemetery site. “All of these cases are old, the latest being, I believe, the 1950s, so no recent tragedies will be discussed out of respect for the families,” she said.
Rock Lotto returns to Festival Days Derek Hann dshann@havredailynews.com Montana State University-Northern radio station KNMC will be hosting its Fourth Annual Rock Lotto, mixing together singers and musicians from around the area to play together from 3 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday in Town Square. Musicians’ and singers’ names were put into a bag in addition to the songs that they would be playing, and the musicians names were drawn to create separate bands as well as the music their bands
would be playing. The seven bands will each have members such as guitarist, bassist, drummer, keyboardist, horn player, lead singer and backup vocalist. Participants who can play multiple instruments were encouraged to list a backup instrument, in case too many people signed up to play a particular instrument. This year, 38 people registered and were randomly split into seven bands, including Boberfet, Mama Cass and the Ham Sandwiches, and Kaycee and the Four

Dave Martens, event organizer and manager of KNMC 90.1 FM, added that a duo from Fort Benton, Lucky Valentine and the Third Wheel, will also be participating this year. The bands were given six weeks to learn their songs and perform a 20-minute set in Town Square. The songs are from 1959, 1969, 1979, 1989 and 1999, with each band playing one song from each decade, he said. He added that people get to step out of their comfort zone a little bit and play music they might have never played otherwise. He added that the bands, if each member agrees, can change the song they drew

Rachel Jamieson rjamieson@havredailynews.com This year’s Festival Days parade will include the Furry Friends Paw Parade again which will run in conjunction with the regular — and popular — parade Saturday, but entries need to be in before parade day. “The Havre Dog Park Club is excited to launch the Paw Parade this year,” club President Chad Stewart said. He added that people and their dogs participating need to assemble at the Havre Dog Park Club float in the Havre High School parking lot by 9 a.m., and the Paw Parade contest judging will be done there at 9:15 a.m. Categories for the contest are Most Unique/Cutest Pet, Best Pet Costume and Best Kid’s Entry. Stewart said the club suggests that people refrain from feeding their pets on the morning of the parade until after the event. Also, he added, people should potty their pets before they arrive at Havre High School parking lot and that people carry potty bags, as they are responsible for any “deposits” left by their pets. People can lead their pets on a leash, but if the pet is a toy breed or small pet, or if it is an older pet the club suggests people carry them or pull them in a wagon or on a float. People can dress them in a

if it better suits the band as long as it’s within the decade they drew. The main goal of Rock Lotto is to get people to play. “Who cares, as long as they’re up there having fun,” he said. The event has seen some people come back to participate in the lotto every year, Martens said, and the event has also been growing. Martens said that this year they will also be doing something special to go with the theme “Small Town USA,” by having multiple musicians at the Rock Lotto sing and play “The Havre Song,” which Mavis Wastweet Farnham, who died last month, used to perform with her group The Timely
Trio. Martens said that he also would have had Farnham perform the song in April during the tribute band festival hosted by the radio station, but she was unable to attend. He added this will be a way to honor Farnham while also celebrating the small-town spirit of the event. Every program at the event will have the lyrics of “The Havre Song” printed on the back, he said. “So if anyone wants to sing along, they are highly encouraged to do so,” he said. Wild Rose Harmonizers, a now-defunct barber shop group Farnham use to be a part of, will also get back together to kick
off Rock Lotto this year, Martens said. This year, food will be provided by Parker’s Barbecue and the Havre Lions Club members, who will be cooking their fair food for the event, he said. He added that Vic’s Club will provide a cash bar. He said that the event will also have a giveaway. Information and sign-up for the 4-H Club’s November fundraiser concert Rusted and Busted will be available. He added that the North Central Shriner Club will also be announcing the winners of this year’s beef raffle fundraiser. Rock Lotto is free and all ages are welcome, Martens said.
A long-time Havre businessman and community supporter is being honored in this year’s Festival Days Parade. The Havre Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors chose Scott Young in memoriam as the grand marshal for the parade. His wife, Kaye, and some family will take his place riding in the parade. Young owned and operated Norman’s Ranch and Sportswear with Kaye, taking it over from her parents, for decades, and was well-known as a major supporter of community events. He died unexpectedly at age 69 July 20. The parade — a highlight of Festival Days — is Saturday starting at 10 a.m. and is continuing its decades-old tradition of celebration. “We want to see floats that reflect on what makes our small town so great,” a post about the event on EventBrite said. The parade is a major attraction of Festival Days, with people lining Fifth Avenue to watch the procession of entries. Registration to be in the parade can be found online at https://www.havrechamber.com/events/festival-days by clicking on the link “2019 Parade Registration” that will take them to the EventBrite entry with registration. Rules and regulations will be emailed to the person making the entry upon signing up. Fifth Avenue run brought back by CASA Derek Hann dshann@havredailynews.com Court Appointed Special Advocates of Hill County — CASA — will be hosting for the first time the Fifth Avenue Mile Saturday during Festival Days to raise awareness of the non-profit group. The run is a revival or revision of the MADD Mile Dash that ran down Fifth Avenue during Festival Days in the 1980s. This year’s run will start at Spud’s Grub Hut and end a mile down Fifth Avenue in front of the Havre Fire Department. People can either compete or walk for awareness of CASA. The event will also have a number of prizes and awards for participants and for those who compete. Prizes include hooded sweatshirts and baseball caps donated by Havre Ford and a Versatile tractor donated by Big Equipment. Awards will be available to first-place men, and first-place women and include medals for different groups of youth partici-
pants. Food and water will also be available at the event as well as every participant receiving water bottles, donated by Spud’s Grub Hut, and CASA-labeled lip balm. Applications are open to everyone and are available at Spud’s Grub Hut and at the CASA office located at the District 4 Human Resources and Development Council Building. Applications can be turned in at the CASA office. People can also register at the race and will start at 9 and closes at 9:40 a.m. the morning of the event. It is $15 for adults and $10 for youths — 17 years old and younger — to register. The Fifth Avenue Mile will start at 9:50 a.m., 10 minutes before the parade. Everyone who registers will receive a T-shirt, but unless the person has preregistered for the race, they will receive the T-shirt after Festival Days. CASA is a non-profit group which works within the court system advocating for the needs of children who have been removed

Welcome to Havre for the 39th celebration of Havre Festival Days It’s that wonderful time of year again; with the end of summer comes Havre Festival Days. The Chamber has been busy since early spring planning this year’s Festival Days weekend of events that will take place September 20-22. The theme this year is a very fitting one for Havre, “Small Town USA.” The phrase “small town USA” pops up in everything from song lyrics to political speeches. Most often, it’s used to evoke the image of a close-knit community, a place where everyone knows everyone, a town teeming with those who rely on each other like loved ones. Festival Days set with softball, Blue Pony football and Northern rodeo

Havre Festival Days is a time for celebration. It’s a time to honor our great community. But, it’s also a time for sports. In fact, each and every year, the annual Festival Days celebration is chock-full of exciting sporting events and 2019 will be no different. One of the most popular sporting events on the calendar each year is the annual 48-Hours of Softball, and it will run from Friday at 6 p.m. to Sunday afternoon’s championship game — literally. That’s right, the 48-hour softball tournament does not stop until the championship game is over, and that’s what makes it unique, and popular. The tournament is a big draw for co-ed softball players, not only from Havre, but all over Montana, and even Canada. Each year, including this year, the tournament will feature a full 16-team bracket of co-ed teams, and the action will run continuously until Sunday’s championship game. All of the fun will take place at the Sixth Avenue Memorial Field. Of course the softball tournament is just one of many exciting sporting events on the Festival Days slate. Each year, at least one local football game coincides with Festival Days, and this year, it’s the Havre Blue Ponies’ turn. On Friday night, the Blue Ponies will host Eastern A rival Laurel with a kickoff set for 7 p.m. inside Blue Pony Stadium. And, if rodeo is your thing, then this Festival Days celebration has that, too. The Montana State University-Northern Rodeo Team will once again be hosting a double rodeo including its MSU-Northern Big Sky Region Rodeo Friday through Sunday at the Great Northern Fairgrounds, with performances at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 9 s.m.

The beef is donated by a local producer and will be wrapped and ready for the winners to take home to the freezer. First-place winner gets half of a beef, with
second-place getting the hind quarter and third-place the front quarter. There will also be fourth- and fifth-place prizes this year. Fourth place is a Big Green Egg Mini Max Barbecue set and the fifth place prize is a $250 gift card to Gary & Leo’s. The winner will be drawn at Saturday’s Rock Lotto, which runs from 3 to 8 p.m. at Town Square.
Shriners Hospitals provide free treatment to children with a variety of illnesses and injuries as well as free transportation for the child and their families. The hospitals are located around the country, but most local people take advantage of the Spokane, Washington, hospital. Old Library Gallery featured preservation commission ornament
Havre Daily News/File photo The Havre-Hill County Historic Preservation Commission has its latest Christmas ornament for sale starting during Festival Days weekend. The commission issues limited edition pewter ornaments showing historic buildings in the area which it sells to help fund its preservation efforts. The ornament this year depicts Havre’s Old Library Gallery. The ornaments go on sale this week for $20 each at the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce at 130 Fifth Ave. and at the Old Library Gallery at 439 Fourth Ave.
