Membership Categories Builders/Developers/Contractors: Builders, contractors, developers, and subcontractors in residential and commercial construction. Includes framing contractors, other subcontractors, e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing, insulation, etc., and owners/developers of commercial properties. License is required in the State of Hawaii. This category falls under Industry VI. Building Material Distributors: Distribute building supplies which could include, but are not limited to, cold-formed steel framing products or systems and the tools, connectors, and accessories used with them. This category falls under Industry IV. Design Professionals: Design professionals (e.g. architects, engineers, drafting) involved in the residential and light commercial construction industry. This category falls under Industry VII. Equipment Manufacturers: Manufacture equipment used in the production of cold-formed steel framing, e.g. roll-forming machines. This category falls under Industry III. Government/Educational Institutions: Government, schools and universities, training institutions, apprenticeship programs, nonprofit building organizations, e.g. Habitat for Humanity and others. Honorary: Honorary members subject to HSA Board of Directors approval. Individuals: Consultants to industry, or other individuals not belonging in any other HSA membership category. This category falls under Industry VIII. Manufacturers Representatives: Individuals who serve as sales representatives for products used in construction with cold-formed steel framing, and do not manufacture, fabricate or erect any products. Associate: Individuals or companies serving the residential and light commercial construction markets, e.g., attorneys, travel agents, real estate agents, insurance agents, financial/lending institutions. This category falls under Industry VIII. Panelizers: Fabricate or panelize pre-engineered systems or wall, roof, or truss framing components using cold-formed steel framing. This category falls under Industry VI. Professional, Trade or Industry Associations: Any association of companies eligible for Alliance membership and with whom Alliance does not share reciprocal membership. This category falls under Industry IX. Reciprocal: Association that reciprocates membership with Alliance with no exchange of dues, subject to HSA Board of Directors approval. Software Developers/Distributors: Develop and/or distribute design, estimating, or other software used in construction. This category falls under Industry IV. Specialty Products & Services Providers: Provide non-standard construction, cold-formed steel framing or business products and/or special services, e.g. slitters, insurance companies, marketing and advertising agencies. This category falls under Industry IV. Steel Framing Manufacturers: Manufacture cold-formed steel framing components or systems, typically by roll-forming. This category falls under Industry II. Tool, Fastener, Connector & Accessory Manufacturers: Manufacture tools, fasteners, connectors and accessories used in construction with cold-formed steel framing. This category falls under Industry III. Truss Manufacturers: Manufacture truss systems through integrated design, engineering, and/or software support using coldformed steel framing.
