The “It’s Alive” Project The “It’s Alive” Project came to life in Rob and Misty Cametti’s kitchen and garage in 2009. Having been inspired and influenced by the “Cows on Parade” project in Chicago, IL and the Vader Project from Star Wars Celebration IV in Los Angeles, CA, Rob wanted to do something fun and imaginative to contribute to a worthy charitable cause. “It’s Alive” is the result when a community of artists, professionals, monster makers, hobbyists and enthusiasts come together. What began as a labor of love has sprouted into a movement of collaboration, good-will, magnanimity and altruism. It is what happens when purity of intention meets inspired artistry. While the first round of It’s Alive featured the re-imagined Frankenstein Monster, this second round of the project celebrates Elsa Lanchester as The Bride of Frankenstein. This collection showcases 89 stunning art pieces—80 lifesize busts and 9 full-size statues—each created by a different artist from the entertainment, special effects, and monster making industries, from all across the United States. The imagination and creativity of the artists are only surpassed by their generosity in donating their time, money and other resources while seeking nothing in return. Blacksparrow is proud and honored to host the It’s Alive Auction to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Many people worked tirelessly to make this all happen.
