Workstation

Page 1

this individual workstation was designed by ayse birsel and is mass manufactured by herman miller. with a main idea to bring people together while they work on their own in a professional work environment, the resolve system provides just that. resolve enables workers to feel a strong sense of comfort, value and connection in their workstation while dually fostering a natural human work experience.

magic officina chair by herman miller chair2: guest seating

aeron by herman miller chair1: office seating

combines a deep knowledge of human-centered design with innovative, never-before-seen technology to deliver a chair unlike any other. aeron has been remastered — ergonomically, functionally, anthropometrically, and environmentally — for today’s work and workers

celebrates the ancient craft of drop-forged iron with their officina chair. the slender legs are made of wrought iron rods that are heated, then bent, pressed, or joined where needed. a gently curved seat and backrest made of polypropylene are set on top, creating a minimal design that celebrates the inherent irregularity of hammered iron

workstation logistics

power

the resolve system is equipped with outlets on every structural post. this is connected to the building’s power supply to provide individual electrical, computer and telecom outlets for each individual workstation. the workstation includes an adjustable canopy over each office chair to allow access to the building’s surrounding sound.

arrangement

the curved shape and openness of the resolve system allows users to participate in the same building system as its surrounding workstations. because of the allowance for natural ventilation through the station, the existing HVAC system of the work room also applies to the location of the resolve system. this concept of a group share between systems also applies to the structural system in the sense that the resolve system is able to be freely placed anywhere inside of an existing building, while structurally supporting itself.

task lighting

there is no restriction of walls in this workstation, which fosters a great exposure to light through this space as well as opportunities for task lamps to be plugged in directly over the work counter. both screens and canopies offer privacy to a user, but does not restrict against lighting from above.

the open angle at the core of resolve’s design creates an inviting work area, encourages interaction with colleagues, and gives even small spaces a spacious feel. without the restriction of walls, air and light can pass through the space, and people can see in and out. screens and canopies balance this openness by providing enclosure and offering a sense of privacy.
