The proposed innovation hub is a centre that promotes collaboration, knowledge exchange and sharing. The backbone of the design dwells on the asepct of designing to feed the pleasure centres of the brain for optimal innovative ideas generation. This has been achieved by having flexible spaces with an adaptable configuration. Specialised facilities and support activities are centrally managed and located for economies of scale and efficiency of use. Use of advanced environmental sustainability and energy efficient technologies surpassing current flexibility and performance benchmarks for scientific research facilities in the tropics has been seriously considered. The hub generally resonates as a scholarly centre for academia, corporate entrepreneurship, student life and public curiosity.

The proposed park echoes the yearning of knowledge by opening up to the sky the same way that the cracks in a dried river bed would. The journey through the landscape is long and hence various interest points have to be created at the nodes: these include monuments, shades, gazebos, water features, interesting green open spaces and the amphitheatre. A myriad of activities has been incorporated within the park to allow a symbiotic relationship to exist whereby retail facilities, a restaurant and sports facilities are carefully distributed to achieve this. The paths have been looped so that there is no ending to the experience, one can just go round and round experiencing all the catchy spaces within the site. Innovative features include: 1) Wind energy field 2) Bioswale 3) Multipurpose amphitheatre 4) Outdoor Yoga Spaces
C The police administration block is designed to mimick the polygons of the innovation hub. It is a revolutionary building breaking the traditions of outdated norms about police station. At the core of it is the essence of service to the citizens specifically those within the locality of the hub. There is also a demountable container police housing located next to the administration block to provide flexible accommodation for the police. This has a separate parking space for privacy purposes which is paramount for the police.

Container housing popularly known as cargotecture has its merits in terms of inherent strength, demountability, wide availability and relatively low expense. Building with containers additionally reduces the amount of traditional building materials needed (i.e bricks and cement) Our design excemplifies a configuration of 7 containers with 4 at the top having cantilevered balconies that sunshade the lower level. The windows on the upper level are recessed as well to reduce direct solar insolation which is a passive green approach.

The zebra is one of the most majestic animals found within the african savanna. With its simplistic monochrome patterns, the grevy’s zebra embodies an attractive composition that captures both balance and contrast which are very crucial design principles. Abstracting its patterns on the building facade would achieve a contemporary yet regionally apt design. This is well elaborated on the design of the fenestrations. The various ecological design approaches entail technological characteristics of the building for example the building is atoxical, renewable, biodegradable, recyclable resources and does not require actual changes in consumer behaviour or life style.
