The filling station offers great access to both north- and southbound traffic along Silver Lakes .Drive. The grand opening of the filling station, which is situated adjacent to the Virgin Active Gym at Hazeldean Square Shopping Centre, took place on Saturday, 10 November 2012. A fun-filled day was had by all, with live entertainment, a jumping castle, face painters and more.
The filling station boasts 4 pump islands, with provision for future expansion. This Engen is also a stockist of low-sulphur 50 ppm diesel, which can be scarce and is less damaging to both your vehicle and the environment. The Quick Shop features a Corner Bakery, offering an assortment of hot and cold, sweet and savoury pastries and fresh Equatorial Coffee. The Hazeldean Convenience Centre was designed and built to make use of Engen’s Product Inventory Loss System (PILS), which includes Automatic Tank Gauging, concrete to forecourts and filler areas, forecourt and filler area drainage, oil interceptors with storm water

connections, filler area secondary containment, and dealer contracts with approved waste management companies. This system has been implemented mainly to combat fuel loss and prevent it from penetrating the surrounding soil and preventing contamination of subterranean water resources. The Hazeldean Restaurant is 1 of 3 restaurants currently in the franchise and not only offers mouthwatering Indian dishes but great service to go with it. Known for its deliciously divine lamb biryani marinated with herbs and spices, cooked with lentils in basmati rice and their fish curry tastefully spiced and prepared in gravy, Tranna has an extensive menu and is authentically Indian. Holiday security in Did you know? gated communities The holiday season is the worst for home burglaries and even owners in ‘secured’ environments such as cluster developments or residential estates need to take special precautions at this time to avoid becoming victims to burglars. “With many owners away on holiday, it is all too easy for security levels in gated communities to slip at this time of year and for the homes within to become easy targets for criminals,” says Jasper Coetzee, General Manager of Sabreal Property Management. “And once again, owners in such communities need to take into account that this is not just a problem for the individuals that may be burgled, but a collective one that should be addressed by the HOA. Most importantly, he says, the HOA should make sure that the security committee remains fully functional during the holidays - which may mean appointing alternatives for members who will be away. “This committee is usually responsible for ensuring that the perimeter security systems - the electric fence and g a t e , t h e i n t e rc o m s y s t e m a n d a ny a l a r m s are maintained and regularly tested, and it is important that this routine is not neglected. The HOA also needs to decide what action will be taken - and who will take it - if there is a breach in security during the holiday season HOA members may also decide that it is worth increasing security at this time, perhaps by hiring a security company to post guards at the gate or to conduct patrols around the estate, even if it does mean a higher monthly assessment during the holidays. And finally, says Coetzee, owners that will be away should inform the HOA security committee, ask neighbours to keep an eye on their homes, and ensure that the gate guard will not allow any ‘visitors’ through until they return.

Helpful security and safety tips when going on holiday •Beware of social media. Posting a status update on a social media network saying you are going on holiday is advertising that your house will be empty and easier to access for burglars.

Sabreal has recently taken over the general maintenance of the Hazeldean Square Shopping Centre, and vast improvements to the overall appearance of the centre can be expected in the months to come.
