Hazeldean boosts future investment value with its planned nodal road-, commercial-, and retail infrastructure Millions of rands have been invested into the infrastructure of Hazeldean to date, with good progress already made on the plann ing of variou s new roads that will provide access between the N4 and Pretoria East. A consortium of 6 developers, including Abland and Sable Homes, are working tirelessly to achieve this. Tshwane municipality has recently taken over the Hazeldean area from Kungwini and the developers have had various meetings with the Roads Authorities, Gautrans, Sanral, Tshwane Roads Departments and TRAC, regarding the road planning. The planned roads include a complete diamond interchange for the PWV17 and N4 crossing, the PWV17 provincial highway, and other roads such as Hazeldean Boulevard. The need for these roads has originated mainly from the rapid growth the area is currently experiencing. These roads will greatly alleviate the pressure on Solomon Mahlangu Drive, Lynnwood Road and Silver Lakes Drive.
Approval has already been obtained for the N4/PWV17 interchange and the northern section of the PWV 17 , with approval of the southern part of the PWV 17, towards Graham Road, expected soon. The PWV 17 will be will be constructed up to the R21 and will link into Graham Road in the vicinity of the Willows Quarry.

Frequently asked questions: One of my friends says that she overni ghts her croissants. What does this mean? It means that when room temperatures are not too high it is possible to allow a product to thaw and slowly rise between going to bed and having it ready to bake when rising in the morning. Ensure that the product remains well covered to prevent it from drying out. What is freezer burn and how do I prevent this? Freezer burn is a whitish crust that forms on the outside of a product, caused by exposure to the dry air of the

freezer. Always reseal the bag when you have removed items but not finished the bag. What does ‘FTO’ mean? ‘FTO’ means Freezer to Oven, a product you bake from frozen. I like the idea of FTO but want my product to still come out bold. How do I ensure this? It is a fact that these products can be baked directly from the freezer. To get the best results from
these, if you have time, allow them to thaw before baking. When baking from frozen your croissants need to thaw prove and bake in eighteen odd minutes. When was the last time you had your eyes checked by an ophthalmologist? If you ask that question, most people would ask, “what exactly is an Opthalmologist, and why would I need to see one? An Opthalmologist is a qualified doctor specializing in the diagnosis as well as the medical and surgical management of diseases of the eye.
Him and his family then moved to Durban in 2009, where he started registrar training under Dr. Linda Visser at the University of Kwazulu Natal. He passed his final exam in 2012 and became a fellow in Opthalmology of the College of Medicine of South Africa, and in May 2013, him and his family moved back to Pretoria.
The most common causes of blindness in South Africa include Diabetic Retinopathy, Cataracts, age-related Macular Degeneration and Glaucoma, amongst others. Even though most of these diseases are potentially blinding, all of them can be treatable to some extent.
Significant accomplishments during registrar training include registrar presentations at the Opthalmological Society of South Africa (OSSA) congresses from 2010 to 2013, and he received a first prize in the registrar presentations at the South African Glaucoma Society (SAGS) congresses in 2010. Currently Dr. Niemandt is also a member of the Opthalmological Society of South Africa (OSSA) and the Opthalmological Management Group (OMG).
The ability to diagnose and treat Ocular Pathology and major causes of blindness plays an integral part of healthcare in South Africa, and it is therefore the role of the Opthalmologist to be able to deliver a comprehensive eye care service to the community, and thereby improving lives through improved vision. Dr. Marcel C. Niemandt, received his MBChB degree in 2002, from the University of Pretoria. He spent 3 years in Canada, with his wife Eunice, working as a bedside physician in the Rockyview General Hospital in Calgary, Alberta. After returning to his home country to pursue his dream of becoming an Opthalmologist, he wrote his primary exams, while working as a medical officer in Pretoria West Hospital (with Professor Polla Roux), and then in Thembisa Hospital with Dr. Paul Molopyane.

As a newly established Opthalmology Practice in the Silver Lakes/Hazeldean area, Dr. Niemandt will deliver a comprehensive full-time service of the highest standard to the local and surrounding community.
