After Hours
by Jeff Bielenberg
September 19, 2013 • 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
With all of us being so busy with our somewhat improved economy this year compared to last year, summer seems to have passed very quickly. Hopefully it’s been a prosperous year so far for all of our members! Lincoln and our surrounding communities count on your professional services to make their projects a success! Thank you for being part of our Remodelers Council, and helping to maintain the courtesy and professionalism of our industry.
Raynor Doors of Nebraska 1634 S. 3rd Street Please send your RSVP to info@hbal.org or call 402-423-4225 by September 15.
Best of the Best
I’d like to thank Wilderness Ridge, their staff and everyone who participated, golfers and volunteers in our annual scholarship fundraiser golf tournament at Wilderness Ridge last month. We all enjoyed a perfect day of weather and terrific attendance was all key to the fundraiser’s success. Kayla and Jennie are always grateful when they don’t have to revert to Plan B.
Best Windows
Unfortunately, there were no entries for last month’s Best Windows. Don’t forget to submit your entry for upcoming “Best of the Best” contests!
This month the Remodelers Council will enjoy some fun and knowledge at an After Hours Tail Gate with Raynor Doors of Nebraska, located at 1634 S. 3rd St. The event will take place Thursday evening, September 19 from 4:30 – 6:30 pm. Hope all of you can come to help make this evening a success for Ron, Gene, Bill and the rest of their staff. Encourage other members who may not have been able to attend for awhile to join us! We want to welcome and encourage everyone interested in being a part of this organization’s camaraderie and learning experiences!
Next month features decks, so be sure to submit your photo of a deck project you have done or been a part of since 2011 to the HBAL office no later than September 16, 2013 to be considered as the Best of the Best! Recognition will include a picture of the project along with your company name in the Step by Step publication and a spot on the HBAL website for one month. Entries cannot win in more than one category.
Also, as a reminder, September’s Best of the Best category will feature Decks. If anyone has a picture of a Deck Addition/ Renovation, please submit your entry to Kayla. It would be terrific if the Road to Success board could be filled with pictures for its final display in December.

www.remodelingshow.com
Remodeling Show is the only national remodeler-centric event bringing together the entire remodeling industry face-to-face annually. Launched in 1991 by NAHB and then partnered with since 2001, this event has expanded to represent all facets of the remodeling community—kitchen and bath; home improvement; aging-in-place; sustainable remodeling; plus all the tools and services that go into executing these types of projects. Knowing the emphasis on education this event provides on-the-showfloor, in the classroom and even in the hallways; our attendees schedule their projects around the Remodeling Show. Since the 2009 event, Hanley Wood Exhibitions has co-located DeckExpo with the Remodeling Show. With outside additions and alterations accompanying many remodeling projects in the US, pairing these two events is a natural fit for both exhibitors and attendees.
