Google leaves out India in the list of countries where it allows gambling apps
Google Play recently updated their policies related to gambling. Google has allowed inapp gambling in 15 new countries including Japan, Germany, Australia and the US. Google Play earlier allowed in-app gambling only in countries like UK, France, Brazil and Ireland. India has been left out of this new list of countries. This doesn’t come as a surprise as the recent slew of bans in many states on realmoney gaming threatens to reduce the scope of business for the industry. In a statement on it’s blog, Google said, “We’re updating our Real-Money Gambling Games and Contests policy so more developers around the world can build sustainable businesses, and in a way that helps keep consumers safe.”
