YBARRA ANNOUNCES CANDIDACY FOR REAL COUNTY COMMISSIONER by Julie Becker

CADDELSMITH CHAPTER MEETING ............................ Page 11

As we continue towards making informed voting decisions, I continue to encourage candidates to submit their platforms and personal information for the voters. Mr. Ybarra has submitted the following: “I, Ramon R. Ybarra Jr. am announcing my candidacy for the position of Real County Commissioner of Precinct 3. My wife Clem and I have been residents of Camp Wood for over 11 years and consider this place our home. Most recently, I completed a long and fruitful career within the power utility industry. This will now allow me to devote my time to addressing the matters that concern all Real County Precinct 3 residents. It would be my honor to give back to my community, by becoming your public servant. I see great potential for positive improvements within Real County and if elected it will be my duty to work alongside the County Judge and all other Real County Commissioners for positive outcomes that benefit our community. This includes ensuring that our local law enforcement has the proper tools they need to provide

the utmost safety and security for all of the residents of Real County. Creating a better working relationship with the City of Camp Wood and improving communication across all departments. I will also work with my fellow commissioners to develop a plan to upgrade the county barn with electric power in order to provide better working conditions for the Precinct 3 employees. This will create efficient and timely responses to more of the community’s needs and concerns. My wife and I have two grown children: Our son, Sergio, is married and resides in San Antonio, Texas. He is an attorney, who is currently employed by a well-known law firm in the San Antonio area. Our daughter, Alexia, is recently engaged and resides in Austin, Texas. She is currently employed as an advertising producer for a health care advertising agency in downtown Austin. I thank you for your time and humbly ask that you join me on the road to a fresh start and a new vision. Vote, Ramon R. Ybarra, Jr. “

Terry Burgess, father of Bryan Burgess, told Inside The Pew that someone had contacted him about the making of the movie, but, at the time, he really didn’t pay it any attention because he was still grieving his son’s death. The producers of the movie arranged a meeting with Terry and his family in Dallas and to review the footage of Bryan in action and his fellow soldiers. Terry indicated that it was a moment of joy and sadness but yet uplifting. Footage used in the film shows the ambush that claimed Bryan’s life. This weekend is built to provide a retreat for the parents of fallen soldiers. We are looking for OUR COMMUNITY to show patriotic support outside of their businesses. The Patriot Guard Riders is a diverse amalgamation of riders from across the nation. We have one thing in common besides motorcycles. We have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America’s freedom and security including Fallen Military Heroes, First Responders and Honorably Discharged Veterans. Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives: 1. Show our sincere respect for our

fallen heroes, their families, and their communities. 2. Shield the mourning family and their friends from interruptions created by any protestor or group of protestors. We accomplish the latter through strictly legal and non-violent means. The airborne sergeant’s life is one of many men and women who serve and die for our freedom is told in “The Hornet’s Nest,” a moving documentary in theaters. If there is a family, organization or business that would like to give to this event, please contact Dallas Hart 830-486-6007 or dallashart70@gmail.com Some ways to get involved: We are expecting 60-75 people total (parents & volunteers) 1. KWS TRASH SERVICE COMING TO LEAKEY AND SURROUNDING AREA by Julie Becker

Knox Waste Service LLC, Trash and Refuse Services recently secured the contract for services at Garner State Park just south of Leakey, Texas. Matt Knox said in a recent interview that he has received numerous calls regarding providing his services in the local area. Knox said he is in the process of setting up operations in the Leakey, Concan and surrounding areas and would be able to provide trash collection services to those areas. Though based out of Tye, Texas, since his company received the contract with Texas

Parks and Wildlife Department and would be in the area, the services would be easily provided to the area. Knox stated he will be in the area developing contacts next week and provide citizens an alternate service from those selected by the Leakey City Council. As soon as Knox can provide services and prices they will be published. In reviewing their website they provide online bill payments, autopay and paperless billing. They are family owned and operated and have been in business since 2000.
